Mike Huckabee slams pregnant Natalie Portman

Potential GOP presidential contender Mike Huckabee slammed Oscar-winner Natalie Portman for her out-of-wedlock pregnancy

"And that's the story that we're not seeing, and it's unfortunate that we glorify and glamorize the idea of children out of wedlock."

good lord :palm:

great thing to focus on huckabee....way to increase that voter base...and we aren't glorifying it, she simply chose it. this country is not a theocracy.

many single women CHOOSE to have children. some can't afford it and are foolish, others can afford it and CHOOSE to have children. to slam the lovely portman, especially after just winning an oscar, is beyond short sightedness, its plain dumb. who the hell is he to tell others when they can have children? especially when they can afford it.

according to huckabee, you can never have kids unless you're married. what an ass.

I don't agree with his slamming Portman. I do agree though about the issue of the number of single parents in our country or I should probably say the number of kids being raised without a father (or at least a father figure) in their lives.

I still love Chris Rock's line no matter what your mamma does nothing scares a kid like 'i'm going to tell your daddy'.

good points...no doubt single parent families are not always best for this country and many are a drain on society. but to call out people who choose it and can afford it, is nonsense and really missed the mark by light years.

pardon me liberals........the Murphy Brown argument didn't work for you the first time, why do you think it will this time......

Personally, I think having kids out of wedlock is a terrible idea. Kids need the stability that goes along with having two married parents (a mom and a dad), or at least that is the ideal situation. That said, it's none of Huckabee's business.

You can have a mom and a dad without them ever having been married. I know people who have had married parents where it would have been better off had they never been married, and my niece's parent's have never been married and she's been raised the best ever.

To say that having some judge validate your relationship with the other parent somehow means that it'll be better for the kid is flat out retarded.

This guy has pretty much killed all chances he used to have. His gaffe with "raised in Kenya"... Then allowing the other side to gain a further leg up by providing them fodder with "no baseball"... Now drawing attention to himself by dogging on Natalie Portman.

Seriously, I think Huckabee is done. Stick a fork in him. He's been entirely unable to control the message, and you ain't going to be President without some control of the message.
