I did mention Beck in my OP, so it's fair game. However, the context is distorted, and continues to be distorted, in a completely DISHONEST attempt at dialogue from the left. That was my point in the OP, and these pinheads have lined up to prove my point!

Also, he is not saying "you're going to have to protect yourselves" at all... he is talking specifically to the progressive liberal movement, and how they have co-opted communists, and the end result will be, the liberal progressives are going to have to shoot the communists in the head, but the communists might shoot the liberals back. That's what he said, that's the proper context... it has been distorted and perverted into some bunch of nonsense that doesn't even make logical sense. A dishonest hackery of what was said, taken WAY out of context, for the sole purpose of denigrating Beck and the right. This is the liberals idea of "honest dialogue."

It's not self defense when you shoot someone in the head because you don't agree with their political views...it is murder, or in the case of Byron Williams, it would have been domestic terrorism if he had been successful when he went out to kill progressives at the Tides Foundation.

No one has suggested or called for shooting someone in the head because of their political views. You're now jumping off Beck and onto yet another nutbag who has no affiliation with the Tea Party or Glenn Beck. When I read the whole transcript a few things stand out to me. The dialogue is so disjointed and fractured that I wonder if Beck has a cognitive disorder. And his level of hatred is so vile, it makes me wonder if the man has a personality disorder. Either way, anyone that listens to and believes it is a very sick person.

When I read and hear Glenn Beck, it's the personification of what Hannah Arendt describes of the demagoguery and scapegoating that led to violence in totalitarian regimes ranging from Hitler to Stalin. The demagogue frames the target, but leaves off a direct call for violence. But the message is clear.

I'm sure the 'conservatives' during those regimes were just as protective of their demagogues.

Well Bfoon, the reason it seems disjointed to you, is because you are trying to jump around and infer out-of-context meaning to who he is talking about! You need for "them" to mean a certain thing, you need for "you" to mean a certain thing, so other parts which don't support what you need for them to mean, doesn't make sense, and seems "disjointed" to you... but it's because you are taking the entire thing out of context!

Come on now, Dix. People were going on about the Gifford's shooting and saying we couldn't determine if it was political because the shooter wasn't talking. Now we have a shooter who is talking and saying the political rhetoric did incite him and you're questioning whether it's true. What proof do you want?

We do not know if the constant, relentless, violent rhetoric contributed to a mentally troubled individual snapping. Remember, he hasn't spoken. At least as far as I'm aware.
