That was short, I wonder if all the flack they got from Senators and even conservatives like William Kristol influenced their decision.

So this was basically a publicity stunt. Olbie gets a 2 wk vacation, and MSNBC can now claim some "moral high ground" by appearing to be "credible" in their journalistic standards. That was really cute, but I bet it still doesn't help their dismal ratings.

2 week vacation? More like 2 days!

You can't keep a good man down. :)

It was a great way to stress the differance between the rules at MSNBC and Fox.

Now will Fox hold their journalists to the same level of scrutiny?

No they wont, they will continue to pretend they are "fair and balenced" even though other stations hold themselves to a higher level.

Christ almighty but you're an obsessive twit.

FOX! FOX! FOX! FOX! FOX!

Fuck Fox...

This wasn't about Fox! This was about Olbermann's failure to follow the rules of his employer. No more, no less... Well, unless you include the publicity aspect of the incident, which in hindsight might be all this was really about to begin with...

:palm:

Same level of scrutiny? Olbermann broke a company employee policy, Fox does not have the same policy.

I think they suspended him for a different reason and used the donations as an excuse so they could try to "discredit" Fox when their pundits actually work towards what they say on the air.

Now that is really hilarious, desh.......

From MSNBC:
"Anyone working for NBC News who takes part in civic or other outside activities may find that these activities jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist because they may create the appearance of a conflict of interest..."

Can you imagine anyone, so galacticly stupid so as to use the name Keith Olbermann and "impartial journalist" in the same book let alone the same sentence....????

:palm:

Olbermann has gone off on Democrats and the president. Who at Fox has ever been critical of Republicans?

Or even stood up to the many outright lies and half truths told by Faux...

Duct tape and plastic will protect you from Saddams bio weapons. The whole story was a lie, meant to jack up the fear level and sell Home depot duct tape (they ran out of it) and whip up support for Bush's invasion of Iraq. Remember Faux's terror level charts? Didn't think so.

Saddam can attack us in 45 minutes. That was a big lie the brainwashed believed. The lie was told for weeks.

Aluminum tubes for Saddam.

Outsourcing and free trade will help Americans.

The Tea party is a grassroots movement. If you haven't realized that the Koch brothers have invested heavily in propaganda for many years and they started the Tea party to deceive people into voting against their own self interests you must watch Faux news.

The Fundamentals of the Economy are Strong.

Obama is a Muslim Raised in a Madrasah.

and on and on and on... everyday 24-7

"In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States..."

Faux News lies to promote Fascism and corporatism in this country. If you work for a living and have believed their lies over the years you're an idiot and your children deserve the poverty Faux and the Kochs have planned for them.

You must be confusing the donations to Bill Clinton by the Red Chinese Military in the 90's with some pinhead rumor you've heard recently....
