The Trump Gold Ballroom and souvenir Shop is a deal. He ignored the agencies which are supposed to oversee any changes and make sure the buildings architecture meets standards. He bulldozed half the White House without doing any diligence. This is a symbol of Trump's mental deficiency and self-centeredness. No other president would do such a thing.

It would be on its way to completion without opposition and it would be paid for by donors... But you wanted it stopped and wanted Congress to vote on it... This is a you thing.

It wouldn't need completion if this autocratic fake-gilt-loving corrupt egotistical POS had left it alone in the first place. The proper path would have been to ask congress to poll their constituents to see if 1) we wanted the change, and 2) should taxpayers cover it. If the majority approved, then like any other government project bids should have been requested, along with professional architectural renderings of the proposal. Once the contractor was chosen, the work would have begun and (maybe) been completed within a speciiic time frame. It truly would then be part of the "people's house," not the wet dream of a flaccid old would-be king.
