The IRGC is trying to gain control in Iran. The un-confirmed rumor is the Speaker of the Parliament , the Foreign Minister, and the President of Iran have been placed in house arrest. They have not been heard from for hours. The IRGC has rejected Trump's offer for a cease fire and Iran has taken control of two civilian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. They are running out of money to pay the IRGC and their military with. Trump has an economic strangle hold on their neck and he is not letting go.

You better hope not. They have no incentive to make any sort of peace deal.

Reactions: QP!
They are in the catbird seat, because The PP has backed down on his threats four time in a row.

They will fight for decades if necessary. Russia is on their side with plenty of $.

American propaganda.

No reliable reports show our Speaker of Parliament, foreign minister, or president placed under house arrest.

News outlets and official statements continue to report them active (e.g., Mohammad Bagher Ghaliba speaking publicly and attending talks).

President Pezeshkian had this to say today: “World sees your endless hypocritical rhetoric and contradiction between claims and actions.”

The rumors are coming out of Iran itself.

No they can't you moron. Trump has them in an economic strangle hold. Meanwhile the Dow is 49,490 up 340 today.

What fantasists you Americans are. Western media has also consistently promoted the narrative of “internal divisions in Iran,” despite providing no verifiable evidence.

Official positions in Iran, however, indicate a notable level of cohesion among the government, parliament, and military institutions in response to US machinations.

When amplified by our own media, the ridiculous boasts made on this forum are doing much to boost our resolve never to be cowed by such cowardly liars.

Iran's president speaks

Today, on the anniversary of the establishment of the IRGC, President Pezeshkian said the occasion recalls the foresight and prudence of the late founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in creating this popular force.

The IRGC has played a decisive role throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution in safeguarding Iran’s independence, security, and dignity.

Describing the IRGC as a pure and robust tree that has grown strong over time, he said it has consistently cast a protective and influential presence during the country’s most challenging periods.

Reviewing the IRGC’s record since the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the president highlighted its role alongside the Army and Basij (volunteer) forces during the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, as well as in confronting various internal and external threats.

The president said the force, through faith, courage, and initiative, has disrupted enemy calculations and acted as a firm shield protecting the ideals of the Revolution and the country’s territorial integrity.

He also referred to recent US and Israeli-imposed wars, saying that the IRGC was crucial to frustrating hostile plots and demonstrating the nation’s resolve against domination.

President Pezeshkian added that the IRGC’s achievements stem from years of dedicated effort, continuous preparedness, and a strong understanding of modern and hybrid warfare.

He concluded by honoring the martyrs of the IRGC and expressing appreciation for the sacrifices of its commanders, personnel, and their families.

'Fortifying shield': Top Iranian officials hail IRGC on anniversary

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the critical role that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has played in safeguarding the security and dignity of the country amid various external threats.

In a message commemorating the anniversary of the establishment of the IRGC on Wednesday, Pezeshkian said that during the recent US-Israeli war of aggression, the IRGC effectively disrupted the enemies’ plots and nefarious ambitions through a decisive, strategic, and victorious response.

He also acknowledged the foresight of the late founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomenei, who envisioned a force that would emerge from the people’s will and protect the nation in its most challenging times.

The president further reflected on the IRGC’s history, highlighting its pivotal role in Iran’s resilience since the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Describing it metaphorically as a “good, strong tree” providing shade, Pezeshkian articulated how the IRGC has steadfastly contributed to Iran’s independence and national security throughout the years.

Furthermore, he reviewed the IRGC’s impressive record from the inception of the Revolution to the present day, underscoring its contributions during the Iran-Iraq war and in the face of numerous internal and external threats.

Pezeshkian also pointed out that the IRGC’s unwavering faith, courage, and initiative have allowed it to disrupt enemy strategies and act as a "fortifying shield" for the Islamic Revolution’s ideals.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the IRGC's struggles in three imposed wars against the Iranian nation and armed insurgencies targeting border and security and cities represent a "great medal of honor" on the chest of the Guards, who have sacrificed to the last drop of blood for the Islamic Republic.

In his message on the occasion, Qalibaf described the IRGC as a source of pride and glory for Iran, saying it is a force that has shown unparalleled sacrifice in protecting the ideological and physical borders of the country.

"The IRGC is one of the distinctions that sets Iran apart from other countries of the world," Qalibaf said. "It is a blessed tree rooted in the soil of this land, whose branches are the people, in whose flesh, skin and blood the protection of dear Iran flows."
