Trump lambasts Pope Leo XIV

Your party should put that in it's campaign ads this Fall and make it part of the party platform
It appears they will. Is it really a surprise that the MAGAts turned anti-Catholic the moment that Trump spoke out against the Pope?

MAGA = White Nationalism and White Nationalism is antisemitic, anti-Catholic, anti-Constitution and very pro-Autocratic.

Why are Reds pleased when Trump vilifies anyone who disagrees with him? Do they think he can do no wrong? Trump is rude, crude and disgusting in how he talks about anyone who has a view that is not 100 percent Trumpian. If you somehow agree he is always right, does it not bother you that he is abusing highly respected people, like the Pope, scientists, diplomats, and world leaders?
Here's the thing: we're not just dealing with Pigshit Trump.
We're dealing with more than 74 million Trumpanazees and MAGA maggots
who voted for him in November of 2024.

The vast majority of them are still alive, of course,
and every one of them, without a single exception, is both mentally and morally deficient.

How can America continue to imagine itself a potentially great nation
with such a huge percentage of its population working so hard to prevent it?

Don't just go just my my criteria as to what attributes constitute a great nation.
America will always be too socially regressive to meet my standards.

Instead, go by somebody like @Dutch Uncle who doesn't think that a National Health Service is an absolute requirement
to be even a civilized nation by modern standards.

All he wants is adherence to an obsolete constitution,
the human liberties that it purports to defend,
and to otherwise be left the hell alone as a free citizen.

Even THAT is totally impeded by the existence of so-many defective Americans.

I and my wife won't be here much longer, my kids are middle aged without children,
so my way out is to simply stop giving a fat fuck.

If you're more fully invested in America's future, however,
I have no answers for you.

Good luck, though.

Disagreed that all 77M Trump voters are pro-Trump. Only about 30% of American voters are Republicans. Same for Democrats. The rest are independents. Of the 155M+ votes cast in 2024, that means only about 47M are Republicans with about the same being Democrats. The rest are all independents who dislike both parties enough to not become members.

Those 61M independent voters are who Democrats need to persuade. Calling them MAGAts and Trumpanzees isn't persuasive. :)

Trump 77,302,580 49.8%
Harris 75,017,613 48.3%

Total votes: 155,238,302

It's my view that the majority of them are entrenched rather than persuadable,
and in any case, it's not that their allegiance to Pigshit is the main problem.

Pigshit is just one idiot. They are sincerely in line with Pigshit's MAGA values.
That's why they elected him in the first place.

I admittedly don't buy into the cult of personality theory.
We have too many genuinely bad people among us,
and no chance of purging them.

We are never going to co-exist in tranquility,
and if we can be brutally honest with ourselves,
we really never have.

I know that I'll never convince you, Dutch,
because we sincerely and honestly see things differently
and different things are important to us.

I think that the very way America was constructed,
with incompatible people whose only similarity was the failure to make it in their lands of origin,
is simply the wrong blueprint to create a great nation.

My future was sealed when my family chose to leave Europe.
My natural genetic inclinations made it too difficult for me to assimilate.

No disrespect to those who see things differently,
but everybody knows that I'm not here to debate.
I'm here to vent.

MAGA is a cult. They don't think for themselves. Dear Leader had to inspire them to start attacking the pope.
I disagree, to be honest, C,

I don't see the Pigshit problem as a cult of personality.
The Trumpanzees and MAGA maggots, more than 74,000,000 of them,
will still be here long after he's gone.

They genuinely believe in those perverse values
and will continue to advocate for them with or without Pigshit.

Right. Trump is shedding voters by the millions. Elections over the past year show it. Polls show it. MAGA faithful are like a diminishing fireball.
The last of the true believers will never leave, of course, nor will their numbers win any more elections. This is assuming we continue to have actual elections.

Trump's real base is 33 percent. He expanded it to win the last election. His insane talk, war mongering, and mishandling of the economy is driving many away.
Many left Biden because the constant right-wingers' insulting and abusing him for being old and damaged took root. Trump has made Joe look like an up-to-date scholar. Trump is scary crazy and stupid. Trump, of course, talked about how easy it is to fix inflation. He showed us how easy it is to fuck it up. He is squandering a trillion on a war of choice. His actions caused the price of oil to soar and thereby inflation to do the same.
Trump shows he does not value human life. Shooting rockets at fishermen off the coast of South America became a joke to him. His team laughed as they killed people. His attack on Iran killed many hundreds. He did not care. He says, " Do what I want or I will be much more violent and kill many, many more people." Blowing up a country's infrastructure is a war crime. Trump is happy to do it, saying that if he does not get the deal he wants, he will blow up all their power plants and bridges. He always uses bullying and threats instead of diplomacy.

Who is ready to forgive that "expanded base?"
I can't find it in me.
I suppose that I'm in that 33% on the other side of the polarity.

I don't think that either extreme third can relate to the third in the middle.
That's our serious problem.

I keep hoping Trump will tell them to drink the Orange Kool-Aid and We, the People, can put this era behind us.

Who is advising forgiveness? Again, the better path is to persuade American voters to vote either for your Democratic candidates or against the MAGAt candidates. Preferably the former. Just attacking them and calling them names is not persuasive.

Excuse me for paring down your post but I think this argument is rubbish. "America was constructed" by people and their descendants who had the verve to make new lives for themselves and it proved to be exactly the blueprint to create a great nation.
