Our pathetic country....

DEARBORN, Mich. -- A Michigan high school football team is holding preseason practices in the middle of the night to help its Muslim players practice both faith and football.

The predominantly Muslim squad from Dearborn says the nocturnal regimen is a way for players to eat and drink while observing the holy month of daytime fasting known as Ramadan that started last week.

I just can't wait to see the cheerleaders and the class portrait of the Muslim girls with their Burkas and faces covered....or haven't we regressed that far yet ?
:palm::igive:
Isn't that truly nice! The players must be a vital part of the team.

quite the opposite actually....how many times do you have be told your "facts" are not true and that schools get out long before christmas and come back long after christmas is over?

LOL at your desperate hyperbole.

"Long before" here in the atheistic liberal northeast is either the day of Christmas eve, or - if they're lucky some years - the day prior to that.

And what do you mean they get back "long after Christmas is over?" It's usually the day after New year's.

What a total buffoon. I knew this thread would be fun.

Could this possibly be an example of "bending over backwards"?

My bad, sorry for the drive by post, I rarely read entire threads.

I think we can add a word to the english lexicon to supplement white man's privilege....christian privilege. Evidently some christians are so so used to being catered to and accommodated, that it's just taken for granted.

another cypress idiot post....

not true, as i showed in this thread.....

yet....you're the winner onceler....as always

good lord, you are not only an idiot, but a liar....that calandar is merely stating the holidays, the break is not for christmas, and you will note it lists other NATIONAL holidays and the spring break....lmao....."coincidentally"....thats it? thats all you have?

lame
The teachers decide what days they want off, not the district or at least that is how it is here in Anchorage.

When did this become a "California" debate? The school is in MI.

LOL - always shifting the goalposts. What an idiot.

You think so?

You think when MOST of the team is Muslim, they're "bending over backwards" to accommodate what MOST of the team believes?

That's pretty funny, as well.

Are public schools supposed to make consessions for a religious sect? Isn't that promoting a specific religion???

I dont have a problem with public schools making accomidations for religous athlets. There is a reason College football is on Saturday not Sunday... Many HS football games are Saturday, ive never heard of on on Sunday.

Your having a "problem" with anything is not the issue. It is the pedastal of the anti religious left who have long taken stands against public funded institutions promoting religious positions...and THAT is what is happening here.

As to college ball? Most colleges are private institutions and what began as religious considerations have morphed into mere traditions....making the comparison irrelevant

Seriously you have a problem with HS's making accomidations for religous students? You would be cool with public High Schools having football practice on Sunday Mornings?

I would be cool with a consistant policy regarding the promotion of religion by a public institution.

Apparently, according to NeoCon theory, school observances of christian holidays, and of Sundays happened completely at random. Simply a secularist and arbitrary selection of days which had nothing to do with our cultural tradition of accomodating this nation's large christian majority.

Wow, I learn something new every day!
