So Kharg Island. There is no value to this place. Its just a convenient port for oil and gas storage. If the marines do take it the Iranians will just use another port to send out oil and gas.

Can the marines hold Kharg? No. Its not really that they will be killed by drones and missiles. There are buildings there they can just hide behind. Its that Iranian targeting systems are not that great. Remember Kharg is around 50% + oil and gas storage. If you indiscriminately send missiles there you will hit them and the marines sent there will die when the entire place blows up.

If we really wanted to take Kharg out of the picture it would be better to blow it up and use the marines elsewhere.

So 'obliterated' means nothing really as it can be restarted and Trump said a week away from attacking the US so soon after obliterating that the only option is a constant standing army with continuous control. Right?
