Democrats = failed ideas, still running against bush

Conservatives have schizophrenia about Obama.

On the one hand, he's a dangerous socialist, who has implemented policies that have veered the country off on an extreme left turn since January, 2009.

On the other, he's just like Bush!
There is no dichotomy in that assessment. Liberals have a problem processing the fact that Bush was no conservative.

No, not 8 yrs. Reagan began the war on the middle class, it was continued by BushI and Clinton (a conservative) signed Nafta/Gatt to seal our doom. Our problems have been building for 30 yrs, not just 8.

You can't blame one man, its conservative ideology that has failed and has intentionally caused hunger in this country.

its not conservative ideology, nor is it strictly liberal. the last 100 years have been a totalitarian bent viewpoint, forced upon us by a ruling elite class. It is THOSE that do not want a middle class.

ON social issues Preisdent Obama is not liberal enough.

ON the health care bill he did what he had to do, but did not hold out for the more liberal public option like I would have liked him to have.

On most other issues, the dude is a moderate and not liberal enough for me.

I consider Bush and his ilk the epititime of conservative. Dixie still revears him.

I think everyone understands that line. It is a partisan whine fest that ignores most of what transpired that led us to the economic mess and instead attempts to blame 'the other party'.

Whatever happened to the party of responsibility. Wasn't that one of your conservative talking points a couple of yrs ago. Now it's time for conservatives to take a look at what they have done to this country and take responsibility.
Who got us into wars, economic servitude to the chinese and has driven us into 3rd world status? It wasn't liberal/progressive ideology.

Actually, there is only dichotomy in that assessment. First, I didn't really hear conservatives rushing around calling Bush a "socialist," and that the inevitable result of his policies was Socialism. Second, there has clearly been, from the conservative side, a pretty unanimous consensus that we took some sort of dramatic left turn when Obama was elected which is going to destroy the country.

In the general conservative mindset, it wasn't "continuity" after Obama was elected. You try to make excuses for the TEA folks for not being more vocal during Bush's Presidency, but you have a blind eye to the fact that this was ideological.

Bush was what I call a conservative, what I hate about the conservative movement. You can call it being socialist or facist or what ever you want, but he was supported almost 100% by the Conservative party for 8 years. Not one veto.

He is a mirror of the Palin wing of the Republican party.... The more conservative branch!

They are Democrats.

What I don't understand is why everyone focuses on the recession when assessing Bush's policies. Hell, look at the expansion from 2001 - 2007. It sucked dirty assholes for almost everyone, the exceptions being the uber rich and corporate profits.

Which is an unsusstainable path... and which is the flaw in the conservative lasse fair model.

So now Bush was no Conservative?!!?!?!?!

What?

How many times did he veto his overwhelming 6 years of Republican dominated Congress?

Who overwhelmingly voted for him for president twice?

What conservative state elected him govenor?

What conservative family did he come from?

What conservative (heratage foundation, right to life, fundamentalist christian) groups supported/ support him?

Dude, where have you been? If you look back you can see that was a consistent problem with Bush constantly rehashed on this website, on app, on p.com...

Seriously. You've lost all consciousness that you can claim if you actually are going to pretend that this is the first you've heard this. It was why the Rs lost so much so quickly, the conservatives stopped trusting the Rs to act even remotely fiscally conservative because they all followed Bush into his foolishness.
