Wrong. Rittenhouse was attacked by three individuals that assaulted him, tried to take his firearm, and one who was also armed tried to shoot him. He was just a better shot.

Pretti interfered with law enforcement officers doing their job. Pretti was armed with a pistol that wasn't concealed. The officers went to detain or arrest him. Pretti resisted arrest and struggled with the officers. At some point, he touched that pistol while resisting and the officers saw that as intent to use it and shot him dead.

Pretti fucked up big time.
