I always liked Mel in his movies, and thought he was a fairly good actor, I guess it's just hard to see someone like that being mean and hateful. It reminds me of the book I read by one of Bing Crosby's kids, describing life in the Crosby family... We all knew Bing as a funny and witty personality, who was very well liked by the public... his daughter says he would get drunk and mad, and beat them with sacks of oranges! Hard to imagine Bing Crosby being that way... but that's what she said.

Anything ugly out of Hollywood is always gonna have the sleaze factor. I hear ya about enough already though.

Well I felt the same way, I loved his old movies, thought he was like the persona we saw on TV... I guess that is a bit naive, but imagine if the 'technology' had been around back then, and a video surfaced of Bing wailing on his kids with a sack of oranges! No telling what kind of horror stories of the rich and famous have never been told.

Anybody notice how Ditzy, never suffers a lack of compassion or understanding for racists. Remember, everyone thought forced segregation was perfectly acceptable when Thurmond was against it.

It actually blew my mind the other day, when CLINTON was giving his eulogy for Robert Byrd, and he basically made the same POINT that I made about Strom. So, I guess you're saying Clinton is a racist?

I doubt it. Not out of any respect for Clinton, but because you commonly misrepresent and twist the facts of the world to fit your stupidity and prejudices.

Basically Clinton said that Byrd pretended to be a racist to win an election since people who live in rural areas are racist, but he wasn't really a racist like those plebes.
 
He seriously said that she should be "raped by a pack of niggers". Yeah, that's not racist. He's also not an anti-semite for blaming all the wars in the world on Jews. I mean, WTF?

Whoopi's just a friend of his, and its a natural instinct to downplay the actions of your friends.

Well, I am sure there is a YouTube somewhere, you are welcome to listen to Clinton's comments and tell me how they differ from my point regarding Strom. He made the EXACT same argument that I made... It was the era and the political view of the vast majority where he was running for office. "He was just a country boy trying to get elected."

I don't twist facts, that's what YOU do... along with ATTEMPTING to completely redefine words in our lexicon to fit your stupidity and perversions.
 
I think that's impressive that he was able to doubly dehumanize black people in a single sentence, though. That's a 2X modifier on all of his racist points.
