Evangelical Leader Says Trump’s Rob Reiner Post Represents ‘The Shame of our Generation’

"A father and mother were murdered at the hands of their troubled son," Rep. Stephanie Bice, R-Oklahoma, wrote in a social media response. "We should be lifting the family up in prayer, not making this about politics."

Many Democrats also reacted strongly to Trump's statement.

"Rob Reiner was a beloved Californian who always used his platform to make the world better," Rep. Zoe Lofgren, D-California, wrote on social media. "Donald Trump making light of him and his wife’s murders is a new low for this petty, hateful man."

It's heartening to see that there are *some* decent, Christian people on the Right. Not enough though to balance the hate we've seen in this thread and from the POS in the WH.

Christianity Today editor in chief Russell Moore pulled no punches in blasting President Donald Trump’s comments Monday on the murder of legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife.

Trump posted to his Truth Social and appeared to blame the grizzly murder on his anti-Trump politics. Trump wrote Reiner was killed “reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS. He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before.”

Moore, who is also an evangelical preacher and former top official at the Southern Baptist Convention, shared Trump’s message and added, “How this vile, disgusting, and immoral behavior has become normalized in the United States is something our descendants will study in school, to the shame of our generation.”

Just heard about this.

Just when you think Trump can raise the bar on being an absolute piece shit person, he surprises us all.

I'm sure he does not believe that the son killed his parents because for TDS..... I've said it would have been better to say nothing...I was quite clear about that... People here have said far worse things.....Lots of people have...it doesn't change my life...what he posted won't change ours...
Lot of Presidents on JPP? You real showed your true colors today!

Wrong. He said he was NEVER investing collusion.
Right, because collusion isn't a legal reference. He invested conspiracy, which is the legal equivalent of collusion. On that topic the Mueller Report said:

Although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from a Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the Campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts, the investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.
