SCOTUS protects marriage equality

You really can't represent even one single person's position accurately, can you?

Civil union and marriage are equal (in legal treatment).
Civil union and marriage are not equal (in identity).

While an orange and an apple are both fruits, they are NOT the SAME fruit.
--- Therefore, you cannot use the word 'apple' to describe an orange.

While civil union and marriage are both legal unions, they are NOT the SAME legal union.
--- Therefore, you cannot use the word 'marriage' to describe a civil union.

What specifically can a "heterosexual person" do that a "homosexual person" cannot do?
What specific right is a "homosexual person" being denied?

FTFY.
This is why they've spent years destroying the meaning of words. Now words mean whatever they want them to mean.

Now you're giving a legal recognition an "identity"?

Mary a person they WANT to marry.
What specific right is a "homosexual person" being denied?
The right to equal recognition under the law. Separate but equal isn't equality. Did you never take an American History class?

Unfortunately it is and states were forced by the Supreme Court to do the right thing which is to allow a person to marry whoever they want, regardless of genitals.

Just more word games. Despite your insistence on playing dumb, we both know that straight people don't want to marry someone of the same sex. In other words, straight people get to marry who THEY want while homosexuals don't.

Again, you already know this, but choose to play dumb like @gfm7175 , @IBDaMann , etc
That's right, gays got special treatment not equal treatment. They already had that though.

You guys play the word games. You want to sell me a motorcycle but when I come to pick it you you roll of a bicycle and tell me it's the same thing. Its not.

It's not playing dumb it's a fact. I've asked these questions before and you still havent answered. Could a straight person marry someone of the same sex? Could a gay person marry someone of the opposite sex? The gift doesn't and shouldn't give a shit about who you want to marry. You want a civil union I'm perfectly fine with that.

A slight correction: Anyone can get married.
Anyone of legal age can get married.
I assume this is what you mean, but I'm just being thorough.

With that said, you would've been correct in your response if you simply would've stopped right there. Sometimes, less words can be better.
As an ordained minister,
I don't believe you.
I married my dog and cat a few days ago.
Impossible. Dogs and cats aren't humans.
The problem isn't "getting married". The problem is having the marriage recognized by Federal law in order to garner the 1100+ laws and benefits giving to federally-recognized marriages.
This already happens... There is no "problem" here.
Federal law doesn't recognize the marriage of my dog and cat, which is fine since they are animals.
Dogs and cats cannot get married, since they are not humans.
Not recognizing the marriage of an older couple because they can't reproduce
Such reproduction HAS happened in actuality before (as uncommon as it may be).
You're still ignoring what the words IN PRINCIPLE mean.
or gays for the same reason
A "homosexual person" has the very same right to enter into a legal union with another person as anyone else has. They are treated the same way under the same law as anyone else. It's simply a matter of WHICH legal union one wishes to enter into... a marriage? a civil union? a ______? That's a decision that each individual is free to make.

That's right, gays got special treatment not equal treatment. They already had that though.
So, in my voting example, where the only option is to vote for Democrat, you'd say that Republicans would be getting special treatment if they were permitted to vote for the person they want to vote for, which would be a Republican?
You guys play the word games. You want to sell me a motorcycle but when I come to pick it you you roll of a bicycle and tell me it's the same thing. Its not.
Nope.
It's not playing dumb it's a fact. I've asked these questions before and you still havent answered. Could a straight person marry someone of the same sex?
Again, the default favors one group - straight people. In my example, the default voting law favors one group - democrats.
Could a gay person marry someone of the opposite sex?
Why would a gay person marry someone one of the opposite sex? Do you not understand what HOMOsexuality means?

Your example is an accurate analogy. First voting is a right, marriage is not. Second the govt is deciding who is eligible for marriage just like they decide who is eligible to vote.

Why would a gay person want to marry someone of the opposite sex? Let see

Money
To gain citizenship
To make others think they aren't gay
To make someone jealous
Boredom

There's probably as many reasons are there are gay people. Want is irrelevant but it's all you people have. I want to rob banks but still be able to legally own a gun.

If there’s no difference, why label them differently?
civil union = legal union
marriage = legal union
civil union ≠ marriage

They are both being labeled as legal unions. They are both being recognized in the exact same manner that all legal unions are recognized under the law. However, that doesn't make a civil union a marriage, and you cannot force a civil union to become a marriage by mistakenly referring to a civil union as a marriage.

ORANGE is a fruit.
APPLE is a fruit.
Orange IS NOT an apple.

Once you answer that, actually answer that question, I’ll respond to the rest.
I've directly answered all of your tripe multiple times; so have others.

civil un·ion
noun
a legally recognized union with rights similar to those of marriage, created originally for same-sex couples in jurisdictions where they were not legally allowed to marry.
