Donald Trump’s import tariffs—a central plank of his economic agenda—may soon no longer apply to certain types of food as the administration tries to push down grocery bills.

Amid rising consumer anxiety, the administration is preparing to make exemptions that will likely include beef and citrus fruit imports, The New York Times reported on Thursday, citing three people briefed on the plans.

The exemptions will also likely apply to countries that haven’t even made trade deals with the U.S. In that way, they would go beyond a September executive order in which Trump directed Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to determine exemptions for a wide variety of foods and other products from countries that had negotiated a more favorable trade rate with the U.S.

How are those egg prices you were quacking about a few weeks ago?

It's more about how incompetent he is.

He really doesn't know what he's doing, as evidenced by this latest change. He doesn't know whether things will work or not - he just throws them out there, and when it's clear they don't work, he backs off. Rinse, repeat.

That ain't no way to run an economy like ours.
I understand... you don't like him... I appreciate his creativity and tenacity.... He is truly trying to make things better In a country where far too many fight his every step...

Once again the Great Orange Messiah solves a problem of his own making to the applause of MAGAts.

Bingo. Does he really think people will buy his bullshit that tariffs don't lead to higher prices?
Yes as JPP MAGAts demonstrate daily. Trump surrounds himself with dumbasses and sycophants. If people tell someone every day that they're a genius and their ideas are working, eventually they'll believe the bullshit. Trump has been believing his own bullshit for over 50 years.

Thinking on his feet, responding to the current needs of the American people.

And?

Trump put his high tariffs on and drove up the price of just about everything we buy and now he is cutting them back and saying he is lowering prices and his stupid MAGAS fall for it.
They are so dumb.
