There's usually a method behind his madness, but I really doubt the Supreme Court is thinking that this ruling with long term implications is "our moment to win back popularity because Trump says people could possibly get $2K at some point in the future".

He has just forced Democrats to argue against their own claim that the Executive branch can use tariff funds for specific programs (e.g., nutrition assistance during shutdowns).

The SCOTUS right is now trying to figure out how to avoid being drug down when Trump gets drug down by the people

If they fuck up life’s going to be hell for them when he’s soon dead due to his lifestyle

Since the House has refused to even meet for the last 2 months, Congress clearly hasn't approved the expenditure of sending people $2,000.
