That made me laugh out loud. You’re right, anyone who’s been on multiple boards probably doesn’t need a “how-to” tutorial.

It would be funny though, if on his second post he called someone out and said, “Well actually you’ve argued otherwise before, and I know this because I created a spreadsheet of every poster’s history and positions before I started posting.”

The words condescending and demeaning come to mind....not a way to make a good first impression.
 
My personal experience and what I have heard from others is that all of the boards started going massively downhill around 2010/2011.....I think it is part of a broader societal decline that is deeply tied to the betrayals The Debacle In Iraq and The Great Recession.

You will find it very different here. In most any thread, a wide variety of opinions are discussed. The kitchen can get hot here, and threads often dissolve into long streams of insults and no arguments being presented, but censorship is minimized here.

Welcome! Study the sensible set of rules. Some of them are there to protect this forum from legal issues. There are several moderators here from both political sides. Damocles is the forum owner and is a VERY sensible person. He wants open discussion, and of course throws his own hat in the ring from time to time!

Jump right on in! Have no fear here!

I happen to be a conservative, supporting Trump. Others here hate Trump's guts. Damocles is right. A thick skin is a good thing to have here!

And dont seem to be wanted.....I was thrown out of Debate Politics because the only tribe I am a part of is the Truth Tellers....it was decided that I was too annoying to have around because my kind gum up the tribal wars......I was given the option of either leaving on points or going voluntarily.

I'm a "socially liberal, fiscally conservative" Libertarian who supports the LP agenda...for the most part. I'm stronger on national security and military interventions than most members of the LP, but it's still better than the Democrats and the Pedo Party.

There are a lot of fake Libertarians online. IDK why they just don't fess up and admit they are MAGAts supporting their mammon-worshiping false orange god.

Most of the fake Libertarians haven't even read the party platform much less agree with most of it. It's pretty easy to pick out a platform issue, raise it as a question and see how many fake Libertarians leap on you for being a liberal, Democratic Marxist Socialist. LOL

Welcome. You'll need a comprehensive Ignore List to get that here. There are some intellectuals, but their number is dwarfed but immature jerks who think political discussion means personally attacking whomever one disagrees with. Filter out the nonsense and what little remains is what you seek.
