Holding leaders accountable is fair, but I don’t think that should take away from honoring an individual act of forgiveness. Not everything has to be filtered through Trump, though I know some here may not agree.
I am honoring the individual act of forgiveness. I am also calling out a dishonorable statement.
Both need to be done. Should we accept the type of hate Trump pushes?

I go back to the two friends who posted Kirk’s wife’s forgiveness statement. Neither of them supports Trump, but on Instagram they shared it simply as a moment of grace. They didn’t feel the need to tack on a line about Trump. To me that shows they cared about the act itself, not about making a political point.

I don’t think honoring an act of forgiveness requires bringing in politics. Grace can stand on its own. Calling out political leaders is a separate discussion.
