There is no common facts for us to start a debate from. You believe Americans are getting Polio all the time, and I believe that vaccination has meant no one in America has gotten Polio in nearly half a century. There is no evidence that will convince you of my facts, and you provide no evidence of your "facts".

Without basic facts, there is no way to debate whether vaccines work or not.

The purpose of isolation and social distancing is to cut down the spread of an illness that often required hospitalization. This keeps the hospitals from being overwhelmed. Eventually those who escaped the first wave will become infected, but the goal is to prevent that from happening while the health care system is dealing with massive numbers of patients. China implemented strict lockdowns. They prolonged the pandemic there but did not have overcrowded hospitals. Another reason to delay becoming infected is to give scientists time to create a vaccine, which they did.
