1. You're confusing the adult pertussis vaccine offered to we elders who had the original as kids, and the one that is part of a DPT immunization children receive.
2. What is "too many boosters"? Your kid is the age of a couple of mine. Kids get the same number of boosters yours and mine did. As for adults, you should renew your DPT or at least the T every 10 years. Hardly excessive. Since you have no g-kids and are not around children, you can have a pass for not knowing that. But no pass for spreading misinformation.
3. No matter the age of the kid, susceptibility to communicable diseases remains the same. Anecdotal: My youngest got chicken pox when she was 17. Non-anecdotal: Teen and older boys who get mumps may become sterile.
