Cons.... what would you have had President Obama do differently...

1. Stop blaming Bush for Oil spills and hang nails and anything else that doesn't go his way.
2. Skull drag BP when it's widely understood they cut the corners and the middle out of saftey practices. Over 1,000 let me say that again. Over 1,000 deep wells have been drilled without this kind of incident which points strongly along with the supporting evidence of gross negligence.
3. Hire 1,000 experts
You didn't answer his question. What would you have Obama do to stop the oil spill?

Get out of the way of the governors of the affected states.
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHA

Oh Yea! They got the resources! They can stop this spill a mile under the ocean and clean up the oil spill. Oh yea, they have the money, men and equipment and know how to do that.

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh God that's rich SM. You might as well have said. "Hey! I know how to make the problem worse!"

And what's really funny was if Obama was actually stupid enough to do that you'd be yelling from your soap box. "Where are the Feds? Where's the Coast Gaurd? Were's FEMA? LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL Oh this is the funniest comment I've heard in a long time.

Oh the right wing comedy of this situation is so hillareious! I got a save some of these so I can post them again in 3 months! LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

You've lost it Mott.

Obama's in the way by not issuing permits.

Its simple technology to use booms and skimmers to collect oil floating on the surface, the run the mixture through on-board oil/ water separators and then dump the water that is 99% clean. But the fed bureaucrats insist that the treated water be 99.999% clean, unobtainable with the huge quantity of water to be treated. Therefore all the oil is to be left in the water.

Only Obama can be blamed for shit this stupid.
That's completely irrelevent. This is a spill situation and the NPDES permit requirements of the CWA do not apply to a spill situation. You're blowing smoke.

The law for this situation is under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 which revised the Federal Water Pollution Control Act (33 U.S.C. 1301 ) and oil spill responses are regulated under 40 CFR Part 112 Oil Pollution Prevention.

You're assertion here is silly. There are no permit requirements for spills, there are remediation, response, planning and reporting requirements.

Geebus. You live in one of the states that is likely to be effected and have no knowledge of this stuff? Where have you been?

So, basically you tried to make a "gotcha" moment, asked for specifics, got them, then pretended that you had somehow made a point...

*shakes head*

False, you just pretend you know something, but the second I ask for a cite everyone gets all upset...

Your stripes are showing.

The reason I am against willy nilly offshore oil drilling is because once this happens its almost impossable to stop or clean up! The Drill, Baby, Drill attitude is what got us to this point.

Now all the Drill Baby Crowd wants to pretend the President could have done something about it after the fact, well I call BULLSHIT!

Like I said, just pretending you've made a point. You asked for specifics, received them, then got all in a hissy-fit because the thread didn't go as you planned. You thought nobody had any ideas how he could have done it better, you were wrong.

You simply accept whatever Thorn says on certain subjects because she is an actual expert in them. Like it or not Topper and SM are experts on this one.

The only problem with that argument Damo, though you may well have a point, but the citation by SM was not an applcable or relevant citation.

Once you pick up the water you have to get a permit to discharge it.

That is simply a version of attempting to limit the conversation rather than participating. You've selected one small thing, among other posts, that you think you can use as a "gotcha" moment and thus attempt to claim victory rather than participate.

Tell me, what do you think could have been done better by the Obama Administration? I'm reasonably sure running around saying you're gonna "kick some a$$" isn't the sole idea you have, nor can you actually believe that they are doing any better than Bush did with Katrina at this point. Simply laughing at one post isn't an argument, nor is it helpful.

I have not gotten a single specific.

This was just a beginning, Jarod. You were given specifics, you just ignored them to pretend the thread when as you had "planned"...

The only uninformed person here, Jarod, isn't Topper or SM.

Jarod, Obama your boy had MMS guy's reading comic books during his watch instead of regulating. No amount of fingerpointing at Bush will Make it Bush's. THIS IS OBAMA'S SPILL!!! He can man up and be in charge of fixing it, or he can whine like a little bitch about kicking someones ass which has Zero chance of happening.

He should Hire 50 expert petrolium engineer, 50 geologist, and 50 Response experts to beaf up MMS or some groups response capability. He should also tighten saftey requirements in deep water. He should remove the moretorium except for BP..

So I see all the attacks over the Oil Spill.

What would you have had President Obama do?

Would you have had him nationalize BP?

Would you have had him take the operation away from BP and then go forward with inferror equipment?

Dont you think this is something that should be left to the private corporations to clean up? Is it not outside the powers of the Federal Government?

The constitution says nothing about the Federal Governement having the power to clean oil spills in the gulf!

LMFAOooo... It's really gratifying to watch pinheads being taught a lesson. When Katrina happened, Bush took it in the shorts for months, as pinheads ranted and raved about the slow federal response and blamed it squarely on Bush incompetence. Those of us on the right, already knew there was little the government could do, it was a disaster and those things just happen. The government can't solve the problem or make it go away... we knew that then, but the pinheads would have no part of it... in fact, Obama got a lot of campaign mileage out of criticizing the slow response. Now, just a few years later, we are discovering once again, the Federal government is essentially useless in a major disaster.... and pinheads are frustrated by this!

You see... Our government is paralyzed by their own bureaucracy. They have become a cumbersome inefficient juggernaut, and they typically cause more problems than they solve, when they get involved. You have all the assorted agencies and departments, with the assorted directors, heads and managers, and then the czars, and they all have to confer with committees and panels, do impact studies and focus groupings... and it may take a week just to figure out who is in charge, and they still may not be completely clear on it. This was apparent on 9/11, there was no coordination, no one knew what the hell was going on or who was in charge.

I think it would be very difficult to "nationalize" British Petroleum, unless you wish to declare a third war against the Brits. Ironically, the best people to deal with a crisis like this, is probably Halliburton... but we all know how you pinheads feel about them. What should have been done early on, is Obama should have federalized the disaster and sent the US Army Corp of Engineers down there, along with the best minds in the business, to work with BP in resolving the problem... instead, he launched a Blame Campaign and has literally done nothing but smear BP's name in the mud and threaten to sue them. Obama is a great TALKER... but unfortunately, you can't TALK the oil back into the ground.

and i'm calling bullshit on your total hypocrisy regarding what the feds are authorized constitutionally and what they aren't. you wanted all this big government to take care of your every need, but when there's something they are incapable of handling, you fall back on constitutional limits. you're full of it.
