Texas river flood leaves at least 13 dead and 20 children missing; camp evacuated by helicopter​


The National Guard was deployed in Texas on Friday after a devastating river flood killed more than a dozen people and swept away dozens of children at a local Christian camp.


Heavy rain on Friday morning caused the Guadalupe River to rise nearly 30 feet in 45 minutes.

Officials confirmed at least 13 people are dead, including adults and children.

At least 20 children attending Camp Mystic remain missing, according to Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick. The camp, which had more than 750 attendees, is being evacuated via helicopter.....

Sounds like the worst thing has happened. :(:cry: The river rose 26 feet in 45 minutes. This is a sad day.

I have tubed in this area I saw a canoe lodge way up on a canyon wall where some idiots tried to canoe when the river was really swollen. Those guys died I was told.

I wonder how many more people may be hurt because they didn't get info on where a hurricane is going to hit, or a tornado, Cutting the budgets and departments of agencies that warn people and save peoples lives isn't the smartest thing to do.
Again how many more people will die because of this BS.

Why are you opposed to more efficient working systems? You comment is just another example of the fact that Democrats can never let a good tragedy go to waste...Shame on you....

First of all when you want to cut waste and fraud you do NOT go in and cut first then look for the waste and fraud . you find the waste and fraud FIRST then cut it so millions of Americans do not get hurt.
I am NOT against cutting waste and fraud but as I said you find it FIRST THEN cut it, and when you are out there crying you are going to cut waste and fraud you DON'T create more of it like Trump had done.

That's exactly what they're doing... They identified it... And made plans to reform revamp and redo the system... I'm glad you agree that's what needs to be done... Now just understand that is what's being done...

Maybe your mother should put a TV in her basement for you so you can watch the news, and maybe YOU should learn how to get the news on your computer. If you want me to I will send over my 10 year old Grandson and have him show you how.

YEP things are going REAL good, Trumps tariffs are driving up the cost of everything we buy and they are NOT all put in place yet.
They are go in and cutting programs AMERICANS need, and NOT finding the fraud FIRST just cutting.
As I said I am NOT against cutting waste and fraud but you HAVE to find it first then cut it.
