Record beef prices raise Memorial Day cookout costs

I suppose for those in inner cities without a number of grocery chains, this is an issue. Ground beef this week was $2.99/lb. I'm not a big fan, but when we have company we'll make meatloaf or chili. I put 10-15 lbs in the freezer.
Porterhouse is on sale for $7.99/lb for Memorial Day. Around Easter I put about 20lbs of rib eye in the freezer for $6.99/lb. I know in some places, ground beef can cost that much.

I often wonder if these articles are ignoring the obvious...that knowing how to shop and planning ahead can trump proof your food budget?
Krogers has choice T bone and Porterhouse steaks 5.95-6.95 about once a month. They have rib eye for about the same about once a month. I cooked a brisket but it was 3.99 a pound and I usually find one for less but prices have gone up.

If 'your bidding' is getting totally humiliated after you entered a discussion you had no business being in...then yes. I most certainly did your bidding. As I always do.

You jumped in as you always do, grossly unprepared. Worse yet, you claimed I was lying about what I pay for food. Why would you do that? Perhaps because you're such a fucking moron who simply cannot tell the truth...you believe everyone is?

Why didn't you just stay in the MAGA circle jerk threads instead of trying to join the few intelligent members on this board?

Will you ever learn? Or do you just crave humiliation?
You just can’t get over your self righteousness can you? It is a defining trait in every one of you leftists.

You actually truly believe this bilge you spew. I feel sorry for you.

But thanks for posting the five year old coupon

New York steaks were $7.99 a lbs. today at Fry's (Kroger's).

Keep digging. You look like a moron. 5 year old coupon? Prove it.

Because you have competition between grocery chains...like we do. Many places don't. I don't really eat a lot of meat, but I fill the freezer for when we have company. The kids look forward to my rib eyes cooked over a wood fire.

Yes you are unique and special you have compition for customers. HAZZAHHH

It is like you live in utopia

Welcome to the free market

Prove it isn’t
Not how this works. Did you notice that there are others who are typically in your camp that enjoy lower meat prices? Did you tell them that they are lying, ignorant, or Marxists?

I didn't think so.
You lose.

Again.

You always lose.

Did you enjoy your hotdogs?

I know that by now you regret addressing me in this thread.

A common occurrence.

Nope. You are getting your ass kicked in this thread, though. Do hot dogs give you heartburn?

Did you tell Fastlane that he's a liar?
So you have a problem with hot dogs? Is that your equivalent of saying someone lives in a trailer while you supposedly satiate yourself on massive amounts of beef?

You know environmentalists would say you are killing the planet with your beef fetish. What would you say to them?

Hotdogs are very unhealthy. I don't eat them under any circumstances. Given your inability to afford quality meat, I'm sure you subsist on them.

When I was younger I ate them often. We had numerous ice cream/hot dog stands in the area. Now most of them are gone, which is a real oddity. They made a literal fortune every summer and closed for the winter.

Do you prefer ketchup or mustard? I used to prefer mustard. But I used quality mustard.

you are probably eating the wrong kind of hot dogs. I only get all beef hotdogs from my butcher (yes they still exist)

Your desire to belittle people to try to bolster your own self worth says more about you than it does about me. Why do you presume what I can or cannot afford? I have given no indication of my net worth or income, nor would I care to on anonymous message board.

But, clearly there is some social status afforded you here on JPP by believing you are wealthier than others? Why else would you come here bragging about buying cut rate beef at the Shop Rite and back it up with expired coupons?

We buy on sale and freeze too. But a lot of ppl don't have that luxury. Ground beef (80/20) here on sale is about $5/lb. Ribeyes are on sale at Meijer this week for $13.99/lb. Some sale, eh? Pork and chicken are a lot more affordable right now than beef is.

Yum! We don’t eat a lot of red meat these days, although delicious, my cholesterol level, chronically bad, doesn’t allow for it. My father lived to be 95 and his cholesterol was always high.

I already told you that I don't eat much meat. Why do you have such horrible reading comprehension?
For someone who claims to not eat much meat you spent a whole lot of time on this thread bragging about your meat purchasing skills at the Shop Rite using expired coupons
