I'll cite Giovanni Gentile, the author of fascism, and his "Doctrine of Fascism" which spells out how fascisn is merely a marketing makeover for socialism, designed to redirect the focus away from "the struggle of the proletariot against the bourgeois" (because that appealed to practically no one) to one of a nationalistic view in which the socialistic society forms a "family" in which the government are the parents.

I will cite any WWII historian who can tell you that Hitler's objective was to conquer Europe and to establish national socialism throughout.

I will cite the Nazis who were the far left National Socialist Workers Party.

Now it's my turn ... why should any rational adult believe that socialism is somehow on the political right?

I contend that with the response to Trump's SOTU speech, the Democrats are not a viable party in 2025. The Democrats are broken and lost.

Understand, without a viable and serious opposition political party, the GOP will become weak, corrupt and self-serving.

The Trump-GOP is good and effective, because of the massive opposition they have had to over-come.

Without a viable alternative, the Trump-GOP will decay into McConnell.

For the sake of the Trump-GOP, we need a new centrist political Party.

Since 2008, Dems have won 3 elections, and Republicans have won 2 (Presidential).

No one is going to remember a dude waving his cane and how dumb the Dems were in general for a speech. You are definitely overstating it.

J6 was a MUCH worse look for the GOP - and they not only survived, but 4 years later, they won everything.

Dems will be fine.

I don't give a damn about what happens to the Dems, they are obsolete.


As Fetterman said of his own party, the Dems are toxic.


I do care that the Trump-GOP has a suitable opposition party to keep them strong and focused.


Some 3rd party, who is currently much closer to the center, and not taken over by the Radical Left, will rise to replace the Dems.


I am hoping it will be the Libertarians, or perhaps even a re-incarnation of the TEA party.

LOL, tell us how the anti American left wants to see America be great again as it was under Trump #45, and is currently regaining that greatness again under Trump #47. The dem party is not only the opposing party to Trump's Republican party, but it's the opposing party to America itself.
