Yes. At the very least, we need to defend each other's civil rights.
Notice that a lot of the alt right rhetoric is about dividing people. To them: Jews should hate Blacks, Blacks should hate homosexuals, and homosexuals should hate Jews.
I don't agree with everyone in America, but I certainly agree with defending their civil rights. Even the alt right's civil rights.

Agreed on bringing back the meaning of "We, the People" and E Pluribus Unum.
It reminds me of the story of the old Armenian patriarch dying in Moscow. He was 99 years old, and surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc. His son asked, "papa, any last words of wisdom before you leave us."
"Always defend the Jews", came the answer from the old patriarch. The family was in shock. Could there be some unknown debt their family owed to the Jews? Could they be secretly Jewish? What is the meaning of this last order.
The old man added, "for after the Russians are done killing the Jews, they are coming after us."
The disturbing part of that is it is a Russian joke.

It's good wisdom and evokes Pastor Martin Niemöller's famous poem. It's a good warning against authoritarian states which seek to divide and conquer their own citizens. Such states attack the weakest members first; the outliers and minorities.
In the case of MAGA; they attack transpeople, gays and brown illegals. The latter includes even American citizens who have an illegal immigrant parent.
Our nation needs both more tolerance and immigration reform. Both of which will not be coming from the current White House.
