I know I'm going to get all sorts of hell for this....
I feel for the guy. I can understand his anger and frustration.
I can understand what you mean.
When I was in school and the school shootings were occupying the attention of the country, I felt I could comprehend why (even if I disagreed morally) with students who would want to take revenge against the students who outcasted them socially.
Sometimes people can really feel like their life is over because they've run into bad circumstances over and over.
But ultimately, to get too close to what this guy is saying or what any killer says is an anti-responsibility viewpoint.
Falling Down has a great ending about this very thing. Robert DuVall is talking to Michael Douglas on the Venice Pier and says paraphrased: "This whole thing is because you were lied to? They lie to everybody. They lie to the fish."
I can't imagine that there are many people who haven't been unhappy at some point with what is going on in their lives. But we don't have a right to harm other people because we aren't satisfied with our position in life.
That's barbaric, even if we may think other people coerce us or deprive us of opportunities in their own uncivilized way.
And even when people are unhappy, they can still have respect for the value and fluid nature of life.
It ain't over until it's over, and it's unfortunate that this guy wasn't able to cope with his problems in some other way.
