Rush has used the term on a whole host of occasions unrelated to "parodying" Emmanuel. And I don't know that "parody" is the right term. Basically, Rush is using Emmanuel's use of the term as a license to say it, as a get out of jail free card.

Using a person's own words directly against them is parody. It isn't "ha-ha" parody but it is parody.

I understand what parody is. I just disagree that this is parody as opposed to Rush being an asshole and calling people "retards" because he can get away with it since his political opponent used the term.
And he has used retard in an non-parodic context many times before.
