It seems that the surveillance wasn't illegal since the 26 people clearly had suspicious contacts with Russians.
Maybe Matt Taibi should go drool over dick pics some more instead trying to stick his nose into CIA business. The CIA is tasked with monitoring people that aren't US citizens that live overseas. That would mean the 26 people could not legally work on Trump's campaign.
The Republicans didn't work for a campaign so don't have the filing requirements that campaigns do.
I'll bet you can't tell us why the campaign was fined. You probably think it was because the dossier was illegal.
Hillary campaign was fined $2,000.
That is a lot less than the fine paid for hiding the Karen McDougal Trump affair story.

$2,000??? CNN said the FEC fined the Clinton Campaign $8,000 for hiding Opposition Research as a legal fee.
The DNC was fined $105,000 and the Clinton campaign was fined $8,000, according to a letter sent by the Federal Election Commission to a conservative group that requested an inquiry.
BTW Trump is 43 and 0 against FEC complaints.
