No offense, but you're way off the reservation here. What they did, if convicted, was purely criminal. Not "covert".
His sissy boy teabagging ass didn’t go after ACORN because they are some evil threat to democracy. He went around video taping dumb ass employees of ACORN for pure and naked partisan political reasons, because they register poor brown people who are unlikely to vote Republican.
If you want to do democracy a favor, go after the people who wield real power and exercise real corruption: corporate monopolies, corrupt politicians of both parties, big money interests in the military industrial complex, or for Christ sake, even corrupt union bosses. Michael Moore doesn’t go around harassing the CATO institute, or the tea bag partiers. Because he is freaking smart enough to know those people aren’t the problem. They may be a symptom of a problem, but they ain’t the ones who hold all the poker cards. ACORN registers people to vote, period. And there’s no evidence, not a shred, that’s ever been held up in a court of law that they are in any measurable way, corrupting the voting process, or willfully engaged in illegal or unethical activity. It’s a fucking joke that wingnuts hold ACORN out as some sort of threat to democracy, when the bankers, the global financiers, and the corrupt mainstream media are doing damage to our democracy that is incalculable.
The bottom line is that This little sissy boy engaged in pure partisan hackery, on the same level as G. Gordon Liddy, or Karl Rove. To equate him with some crusader for democracy is laughable at face value.
And here’s a tip. If they posed as telephone men, and tried to wire tap a US Senator, that’s not “covert”, in your vernacular. I’m down with covert. What these little sissy chickenhawks did was if proven in court, was a pure criminal act. Can you imagine what would happen to a member of Al Qaeda who was caught wiretapping a sitting US Senator who sits on the homeland security committee? They’d be strung up by the balls.
