No question about that, many of them are petrified. It takes quite awhile to gain their trust because of that ingrained fear but once you have it, it's heartwarming. I don't think I know any of them that are receiving any sort of state or federal welfare.

They come here to work, not to get freebies from the taxpayers. They come here to work for employers who disregard the law and hire and pay them under the table. An American citizen can't legally work for under minimum wage, but these guys can and do. When you come from a place where you can't earn money doing much of anything, even $6 or $7/hour seems like wealth. For the employers, being able to hire help for less is often the difference between having a business or going broke. So instead of screaming "GET OUT!" why aren't (R) politicians working with (D)s to create a guest worker path?

You eliminate this problem by eliminating the veterans. A group Trump has openly expressed disdain for to many who have served under his Admin.

Those captured and injured Trump holds a special place of hate for in his heart. They are "suckers" and "losers" to him, as he sees no value in serving and thinks if you get injured doing it, you really did get suckered.

Most that I know work for landscapers, painting contractors or simple labor. Some work for some of the meat packing plants in my area. Just how some of these employers get away with it I don't know, some of them may very well be documented and living here legally.

I think the reason the right and the left don't get together is the right likes to appeal to the bigots and they will lose them if they show a heart. Compassion is something the democrat is supposed to have, not the conservative.

A Trump has never served in the armed forces. His grandfather fled Germany to escape the draft. Donnie said terrible things about those who serve and as usual, the Trumpys just ignore them. Trump shows what a self-serving asshole he is. He is not the problem. It is those who cannot figure him out and understand what a potent danger he is to the American experiment.

Bingo. The Reichwing's thing is fear and bigotry.

I suspect that we'll see even more resistance to working with the (D)s now on a guest worker plan and solutions to illegal immigration. The (R)s have lost abortion as a call to arms for their base; the (D)s have gladly taken up the banner with excellent results at the polls since Roe v Wade was trashed. You are right; the GOP uses xenophobia as a way to scare their base into showing up at the polls. It's hilarious that someone who lives in a declining mostly-white area in a state far from the border (Ohio) thinks that they know shinola about this issue, or even know a single illegal person, other than what Fox scares them into believing about the issue.

of course they are petrified......its how you can get them to work for so much less than people who are here legally......
 
Trump has a great plan. He will cut taxes on the wealthy and corporations. There are no problems that cannot be solved that way.
