Biden is working with NYC and Chicago to get around the waiting period refugees have to sit idle before they can get employment, in other words, so that they can earn some money so that they can pay for their own housing and needs. The people Abbott and DeSantis are shlepping to NYC and Chicago for their own political gain are stressing the cities services, and it is a way to aid the situation

Plus with unemployment at 3.9%, not a concern, like these people are going to be able to fill envious job slots

Those jobs like most are paying upwards of 16 bucks an hour. And news flash, this nation houses low skilled workers by the millions....those with skills are few and far between.

You do not use a hyphen in illiterate, and even if you do, it would be il-literate. Literacy is not an illness, so you cannot be "ill literate."

I make writing mistakes all the time, but I try not to do so when telling people how educated I am. It just makes you look silly.

You do when you make a list. I listed semi- and ill-literate. A shortened version of versions of literate twice rather than spell both out in full. You are semi-literate at best.

Big discussion. Our decades of funneling money to colleges has created a pool of potential workers who have absolutely no use for the degrees that they wasted tens of thousands of dollars on. Instead of creating an atmosphere that urged our youth to learn a valuable trade, we sold them a 4 year vacation away from mom/dad with nobody checking to see if you are using drugs/alcohol.

Sex/drugs/Rock n Roll won out over trade schools.

There are plenty of skilled people in this nation. All of them are employed and are backed up with work.

We need skilled laborers in this nation, and immigrants are more than happy to fill that void

Listen, I am not hating on immigrants wanting and needing to work....but that desire does not add anything to the bottom of line of wages suddenly decreasing and they will, creating a competitive nature of bias and indignation and the only real winners are stock holders and rich business owners. It also once again will start a culture war of them vs us....again how many times have we seen workers turn on immigrants in this country? I for one have worked many years will legalized immigrants who pay work visa to the fed til they become legal citizen.
