The Confederacy was a failed rebellion against the US, fueled mostly by the institution of slavery. That’s what the flag represents. Traitors to their country.

Hamas is merely the currently elected government of Gaza. The flag of Palestine is no different than say, the US flag representing the traitorous Trump and his followers.

That flag represents the State of Palestine, which consists of two territories. The West Bank and Gaza. Those two territories are governed by two different authorities.
