The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government in 1917 during the First World War announcing its support for the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine, then an Ottoman region with a small minority Jewish population.
 
Both sides in this war suck. I am almost always against the aggressor, but this is a multi-century conflict and it simply needs to end.

Religious fundamentalism sucks.
 
After the First World War it seems they thought the fix to their Jewish problems was to give the Jews somewhere else to go

I am patirotic, and I love my nation, but If I were a Palestinian and I had a family and found myself living in the Gaza Strip, Id have left decades ago. Id have packed up my kids, some portable food and as much cash as I could put away and LEFT.

No fucking way Id raise my family in that mess. Religion and Nationality mean less to me than my kids. Many have chosen to get their families to the South of France or something and made a new life, that would have been me and mine.

It pretty much is. The Palestinians have been given hundreds of billions in aid over the last few decades and they've squandered what their thoroughly corrupt leaders didn't steal. When Israel left Gaza, they left behind, totally intact, three functioning towns with large greenhouses, and other production facilities. The Palestinians went in and tore the whole thing to the ground.

Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups fight among themselves almost as much as with Israel. It's almost cliche. Give one Palestinian a gun, you get a massacre. Give two Palestinians guns, you get a war. They are their own worst enemy and have been for centuries.

It's a holiday in Israel at the moment. Hamas decided to attack during the holiday. Probably for the same kinds of reason the Japanese attacked on a Sunday.

This attack is supported by Iranian extremists, funded by Biden and Obama.

You are simply too ignorant to see that centuries of families and culture and religion are behind this mess. You are looking at it from a simplistic American POV. We are not steeped in our culture the way Middle Easterners are, we are not connected to our land like they are, we are not religious in the way they are. Western Culture is not the same and we can really never understand it, merely try to study it.

I am glad to be separated from my ancient culture and religion, but they are likely glad to be connected to it.
