Israel at war, U.S. paralyzed by Republicans...

No. Did someone hold a gun to the Democrats heads to vote against McCarthy?

Now you want to require Democrats to vote for Republicans?

The whole point of being in a political party is you vote for that party. I will be willing to require Democrats to vote for McCarthy, but only if all Republicans are required to vote for Biden in the next general election. How is that for a deal?

The Legislative Branch of the United States is paralyzed by Republican infighting... any shock Hamas chose this moment to attack Israel?

No. Good time for all of Trump's heroes to start shit.

The upcoming treaty between Israel and Saudi Arabia may have also helped push this. Iran backs Hamas and Iran and Saudi Arabia hate each other.

Both Kremlin and White House refuse to condemn Hamas.

If you ever took the time to remove your head out of your ass, maybe you'd see the world in a better light. :)

Biden condemns the ‘appalling assault’ by Hamas as Israel’s allies express anger and shock
President Joe Biden on Saturday decried the “appalling assault” by Hamas militants and his administration pledged to ensure Israel has “what it needs to defend itself” after the surprise attack that drew worldwide condemnation and anger from Israel’s allies.

Biden made clear in a call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that “we stand ready to offer all appropriate means of support,” according to the White House. He also called Jordan’s King Abdullah II. Secretary of State Antony Blinken rushed to the White House for meetings and was phoning foreign counterparts, while Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin spoke with Israel’s defense minister.

“Terrorism is never justified. Israel has a right to defend itself and its people,” Biden said in a statement that also warned “any other party hostile to Israel” against “seeking advantage in this situation.” Washington’s support for “Israel’s security is rock solid and unwavering,” the president said. His Pentagon chief said the U.S. was committed to helping Israel to “protect civilians from indiscriminate violence and terrorism” and with its defense needs.

Just got off a call with cousins in Israel , people are bracing for a big one

It's good to be prepared, but I suspect the IDF is going to clean Hamas' clock.

Big time and no holds barred

“We are at war,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a televised address, declaring a mass army mobilization. “Not an ‘operation,’ not a ‘round,’ but at war.”

“The enemy will pay an unprecedented price,” he added, promising that Israel would “return fire of a magnitude that the enemy has not known.”

Some pretty much 100% for sure things in this situation:

Hamas and Palestine are in for an ass beating. I'd expect hundreds of dead at a minimum with thousands injured. Mass property damage.
Hamas will be nearly powerless to retaliate for anything Israel does.
Biden will be as useful as a pair of DD tits on a rattlesnake.
Neither Hamas nor Israel will listen to a damn thing Biden says or does.
The radical Left will hand wring and scream about how awful Israel is without ever mentioning anything about Hamas or what started the war.

So the Dems were forced to oust McCarthy, dumbass. Geatz loaded the gun. The Democrat aimed it and squeezed the trigger. Willingly

It truly is amazing how much you can twist things to fuck them up so badly that they don’t even resemble reality.

I think the calculus was that McCarthy was feckless and dishonest. It seems very likely to me that Republicans are going to eat each other trying to pick a new speaker. A LOT of Republicans don't want any of these clowns. I doubt the caucus can reach consensus. THAT is when Democrats can strike a deal with a moderate speaker candidate that they can work with. I think that's how it ends, and it will leave the Democrats AND the new speaker in a much better place. My two cents, but I guess we'll see. If they all get behind Jordan there will be absolutely nothing done in the House. Including border money, a new budget, and money for Ukraine. That's why I don't see it happening. An anti-Ukraine candidate can't win the gavel.

Iranian-supported Hamas against Israel has turned the Middle East into a maelstrom. The assault, almost 50 years to the day after the surprise Arab attack on Israel that marked the opening of the Yom Kippur War, could represent a paradigm-shifting moment as big as 9/11.

Hamas, and its Iranian and Hezbollah allies, have not made a secret of their ultimate aims.

The Peel Commission, formally known as the Palestine Royal Commission, was a British Royal Commission of Inquiry, headed by Lord Peel, appointed in 1936 to investigate the causes of unrest in Mandatory Palestine, which was administered by Great Britain, following a six-month-long Arab general strike.

On 7 July 1937, the commission published a report that, for the first time, stated that the League of Nations Mandate had become unworkable and recommended partition.[1] The British cabinet endorsed the Partition plan in principle, but requested more information.[2] Following the publication, in 1938 the Woodhead Commission was appointed to examine it in detail and recommend an actual partition plan.

The Arabs opposed the partition plan and condemned it unanimously.[3] The Arab Higher Committee opposed the idea of a Jewish state[4] and called for an independent state of Palestine, "with protection of all legitimate Jewish and other minority rights and safeguarding of reasonable British interests".[5] They also demanded cessation of all Jewish immigration and land purchase.[4] They argued that the creation of a Jewish state and lack of independent Palestine was a betrayal of the word given by Britain.[2][6]

The Zionist leadership was bitterly divided over the plan.[4] In a resolution adopted at the 1937 Zionist Congress, the delegates rejected the specific partition plan. Yet the principle of partition is generally thought to have been "accepted" or "not rejected outright" by any major faction: the delegates empowered the leadership to pursue future negotiations.[4][7][8][9] The Jewish Agency Council later attached a request that a conference be convened to explore a peaceful settlement in terms of an undivided Palestine.[4] According to Benny Morris, Ben-Gurion and Weizmann saw it "as a stepping stone to some further expansion and the eventual takeover of the whole of Palestine".[4][10]

You think this was the first fist to fly?
Fucking liar

How far do you want to go back? The Palestinians have been starting shit with various other groups for centuries before Israel existed. They were thrown out of Jordan for staging a coup to take over the government. Egypt has their border with Gaza closed, just like Israel, because they don't want Palestinian terrorists in their country either.

If there was a "first fist to fly" it was that of a Palestinian.
