Ukraine only needs our NATOs full support with military supplies. They already have more soldier in the field than Russia does. With ATACMS they could push Russia ammo depots back. That means Russia would have to transport munition 200 miles to the front which means long convoys. If they have F16s they can get air superiority. Those convoys would be sitting ducks. It is hard to fight without munitions.

Putin stated in February 2022 his goal was the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. That means removing the Kyiv government, placing a puppet government in place, and dismantling Ukraine's armed forces to render them harmless and insignificant..

That is a plan that was thought out long in advance of 24 February 2022.

We could have sent you and Trump over to grovel in front of Vladimir. You and Trump could have promised him we would kick Poland and the Baltic states out of NATO, and it still wouldn't have made any difference to Vlad's visions of imperial conquest.

I have no dog in this fight . I do like to live in reality though. Ukraine can not win unless NATO and or the US puts actual boots on the ground and provides air power. THEY WONT. All this is doing is delaying the inevitable. Its sad,....all the lost lives and treasure only to end up in the same place but with far more death and destruction. Like I said from the beginning,......A peace agreement should have been brokered. Z tried to get a deal but two things prevented it. Putin's arrogance when they met in Paris and the Ukrainian ultranationalists that wouldn't budge.
Obama's arrogance in dismissing the resolve of Putin and sending Miss Piggy (Victoria Nuland) to stir up the shit in the pot didn't help.
It would have been difficult to prevent this war.

Putin probably would accept the Donbas , land bridge to Crimea and retaining Crimea of course. Also no NATO membership guarantee for the rump state left of Ukraine.

Just to play devils advocate for a moment. Surely people can understand the worry it would cause the Russians as one by one they watched the former Soviet bloc states get absorbed into NATO. Country by country right up until NATO was on Russia's border. The buffer zone just vanished. Hell,...even the Federation and the damn Romulans were smart enuff to maintain a neutral zone! What do you think America's reaction would be if starting in Central America and moving northward one by one every country including Mexico had become military allies of Russia? We all KNOW what Americas reaction would be,....we would have went to war. And we would have been correct to do so. You cannot ask someone to do something you would never do yourself.

The only peace deal entails Putin getting the fuck out of Ukraine. That includes the illegal annexation of Crimea.

The attack on Friday is perhaps the most dramatic example yet of the confidence with which Ukraine is going after Russian facilities in occupied Crimea – and shows the vulnerability of critically important infrastructure on the peninsula.

In a statement on Telegram, Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces said a special op dubbed “Crab Trap” was timed to strike while senior members of Russia’s Navy were meeting, and that the attack left dozens of dead and wounded “including the senior leadership of the fleet.” No names have been given and CNN has not independently verified the claim.

Strategically this is great news. Realistically, Putin has already started targeting Ukraine power plants again. He will continue to do this all winter. Ukraine will make gains in their effort to oust Putin from the country, while they continue to suffer huge losses to infrastructure.
