New York, California lost more tax income than every other state

Correct. Which is why retired people with grown kids retire to low tax states with fewer schools and services, and horrid wages.

It's cheap to live there for a reason.

Great that Democrats are increasing numbers in these states too.

Nora is obviously a retiree. Or more likely her husband is. I can't imagine she could hold a job at McDonalds.

Actually the smart ones are leaving California and New York so that means the Republicans are leaving.

Business and people are fleeing these blue states in groves.

Living in blue states can be expensive,
but it's worth it for the electricity and indoor plumbing.

I've been to red states and seen that they actually have a little of that stuff now,
but even so,
then you still have to put up with the fucking goober people.

I'm good, thanks.

Self explanatory , look at her source.

I did look at her source and then looked at the source the source used.
https://www.irs.gov/statistics/soi-tax-stats-migration-data-2020-2021
All the story really shows is more people moved to Texas and Florida. The data certainly doesn't show people with higher incomes fleeing NY and CA.
The average income of people moving to California was $87,000
The average income of people moving to Texas was $88,000
The average income of people moving to Rhode Island was $90,000.
What the data really reflects is that incomes are higher in CA, NY, IL, MA so people leaving those states tend to have higher incomes.

If 1,000 median income earners leave CA and move to Texas and 1,000 median income earners leave TX and move to CA, then TX will have an increase in IRS earnings based on the previous 2 years when the earner lived in the CA. It shows nothing about what that person will earn the next 2 years. It could mean that the person that moved to CA now makes $84,907 instead of the $66,963 they were making in TX and the person that moved to TX may now be making $66,963 instead of $84,907. If that is the result, the person that moved to CA would be better off than the one that moved to TX.

It's percentage based dumbshit.
Here is this piece of shits source(https://www.foxnews.com/politics/new...-leaving-study) , The increase decrease is not by percentage as she says it is by dollars .The only time it is percentage is when a large state loses 1/10% of their population to a micro hate sate , the hate sate increases 10%. That means nothing other than Democrats from blue states make incomer and are not just welfare recipients like most red states recipients/ These microbes here trying to make a case for their hate states is nothing but a laugh. THEY ARE TOTAL USELESS WITH LIES AND DISTORTION IN THEIR EVERY COMMENT, MY CHALLENGE IS OF ALL THE STATEMENTS HATE PARTY PEOPLE MAKE(MAGA MAGGOTS) < SHOW ME ONE THING THAT ISN'T A LIE OR A DISTORTION> This is funny.

agreed!

You are in for the greatest thrashing in election history. Won't matter what states we're talking about. The blue wave will bury you.[/QUOTE That will be true, No patriot and no person who has the capacity to think will vote for the MAGA hate party. Now you will understand why the hate party won't educate their population.

Read post 32, people retiring and moving to no tax states is never unusual., but states that don't tax end up with the worst of everything. Those things, retired people aren't concerned about as much as they are concerned about dollar and cents. Their retirement money doesn't come from the state they move to, it comes from the good wages they received in the blue states. SS & Pensions

The problem with those stats is that they don’t account for cost of living, that is to say purchasing parity power (PPP).

So look at California vs Florida for example. California has one of the highest median household incomes but it also has high taxes and a very high cost of living. Florida has a high cost of living, low tax rates and a very low median household income 44 out of 50 States).

Then compare that to a State like Ohio which has a low cost of living, low taxes and a low median household income. The low taxes though and the higher PPP are used to adjust for the lower median household incomes. Then combined with Ohio being one of the least dependent States on Federal spending then the economic outlook in Ohio becomes more advantageous than if you look at these stats independently.

Then add to that the margin of economic inequality in each of those States. Both of which are high in California and Florida.

When these are factored together then a family earning the U.S. Median household income of $71kpy, then they would have a significant economic advantage living in Ohio vs either Florida or California.

In short the whole debate her by our right leaning posters is pretty devoid of facts.

The real problem is the last 2 years of income which is what the IRS uses for the data may not be the same as the next 2 years of income.
Someone that has an adjusted gross income of $150,000 in their last 2 working years in NY, then retires and moves to Florida may have a gross income of $50,000 in retirement.

Why Did 352 California Companies Flee to Other States in Three Years?
Low-to-no income tax states gained $391 billion from California during 2018 to 2021

The trend to flee California is accelerating too. It's on an exponential curve now and that doesn't bode well for the state.
