There are plenty of ways to circumvent a wall, so the money spend building a wall would be a complete waste. Isn't ironic that the GOP claim to be against wasteful spending but are willing to spend on this illusion.

The wall isn’t supposed to stop illegal immigration it’s simply one part of immigration reform and is meant to be a deterrent
Sure you can circumvent it but it should give border patrol enough time to get to the situation and stop the illegal crossing

You forgot everyone not stuck in medieval times that realizes a wall is a very archaic thing that only worked because they were guarded. Try guarding something even a twentieth the size of the border. You will spend a fortune and still fail miserably.

We have cameras now so all you need are some response teams to react to people getting over the wall.
The wall will slow them up enough to allow the border patrol to reach them in time.

How bout those people who dont want to spend billions of our dollars on a wall that can be easily breached, and one that gets washed away during storms. I would also guess that private land owners dont want their property taken away.

The Wall Trump was having built didn't need any guards whatsoever. Drones could be available to see if any of the illegals are attempting to dig a tunnel(s) under the wall. No guards needed.
