SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- During his campaign swing through Iowa, former Vice President Mike Pence encountered a resident angry over his role in certifying Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election on Jan. 6, 2021.

"Do you ever second-guess yourself?" a woman asked Pence during a campaign stop Wednesday evening at Pizza Ranch, after noting that he "changed history" and that "if it wasn't for [Pence's] votes, Biden wouldn't be in the White House."

"The Constitution affords no authority -- the vice president or anyone else -- to reject votes or return votes to the states. Never been done before, should never be done. And I'm sorry, ma'am, but that's actually what the Constitution says," Pence told her.

Trump beating Biden by 7 points, DeSantis by 34 in key battleground states

63 percent of registered voters in battleground states say they don't want to see Biden run for president.

A new Echelon Insights poll conducted between June 26-29 shows former President Donald Trump as the favorite to win the White House among battleground state voters if the 2024 election were held today.

According to the poll, former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in battleground states with 48 percent voting definitely or probably for him. 41 percent say they would definitely or probably vote for Biden, while 11 percent are undecided. Battleground states for 2024 include Arizona, Florida, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin.

The poll shows a virtual tie between Florida Governor Ron DeSantis at 44 percent and President Biden at 43 percent with 13 percent unsure. 63 percent of registered voters in battleground states say they don't want to see Biden run for president in 2024, with only 23 percent saying they do.

In the Republican Primary, former President Trump garnered 56 percent of support in battleground states and 49 percent among all voters polled. Ron DeSantis is in a distant second place with 22 percent of the support in battleground states, and dropping to 16 percent overall.

In a head-to-head matchup between Trump and DeSantis, 63 percent of voters in battleground states say they would vote for the former president if the primary were held today, while 32 percent said they would vote for DeSantis. 60 percent total said they would vote for Trump while 32 percent of voters in battleground states and total would go for the Florida governor.

As reported Wednesday, Vivek Ramaswamy polled within six percentage points of Governor DeSantis. Ramaswamy gained two points putting him at 10 percent in the primary vote, while DeSantis lost three points. A Civiqs poll in June showed that DeSantis' favorability dropped 22 points since December.

Former President Trump has continued to rise in the polls since being indicted on two different sets of charges. A Harvard Harris Poll in June showed that 55 percent of Americans believe the indictments are politically motivated and 50 percent believe that they will only help him politically.

This was definitely a John McCain moment in history.

And, Mike Pence demonstrates, once again, that he measures up to John McCain in terms of honesty and integrity.

And, it also demonstrates that THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is not the party of honesty and integrity, and demonstrates that Honesty and Integrity is not important to them, and how they reject it at every opportunity they can.

So, the Republican Party needs to understand how this is an image problem for them, and the reason why THEY ARE BEING REJECTED by the Vocal and Voting Moral Majority.

But, kudos to Mike Pence for his trying to convince his party to step up and take responsibility for their image problem that was caused by Donald Trump and his cult following.

All you Trumptards are just as much to blame for this as Donald Trump- even more so for carrying Donald Trump's lies to bed every night- while wet-dreaming over your evil empire totally based upon and totally rooted in lies and deception now!
