I'd say the opposite. Leftists tend to be the ones that were sheltered their whole lives. They never faced a day of adversity and were always told how smart, capable, etc., they are regardless of how incompetent, stupid, and ignorant they actually are. The result is, they think their opinion actually counts more than any other, that they have all the answers, and when confronted with their own stupidity, they get really viciously angry, throwing a childish tantrum.
