Sarah Palin as a Third Party Candidate? Naaah!

You can think whatever your pathetic socialist ass wants to think, I am telling you the GOP better reconcile it's differences with social conservatives and find a way to incorporate social conservative values in their platform, or they are done as a viable political party in America. The GOP "moderates" can moan and bitch about it, the "libertarian" wing can drag their feet and claim it's 'meddling in personal lives' and continue to actively participate with the left in the war against social conservatives, but it will ultimately spell the demise of the party.

The principles of social conservatism are the cornerstone and foundation of Conservatism, and we better start recognizing that point again. Yes, we need to return to core fiscal conservative values too! No one is saying we need to turn the GOP into a bunch of Bible-thumping social conservatives, who ignore the fiscal conservative principles for the sake of "Compassionate Conservative" Christian-based moral values. That is what we had with Bush, a social conservative and fiscal liberal! There needs to be a balanced, articulate, well-reasoned platform, rooted and based in moral conservative principles as well as fiscal conservatism. We shouldn't apologize for this, we shouldn't make excuses for why we can't do this, we should be proud as conservatives to stand up for the principles of conservatism in every aspect.

Well, "godspeed" with that, as they say.

It would certainly be a boon for Democrats if you get your way...

Actually. Individual rights is the cornerstone of the conservative movement.

Opposing gay marriage is a piece of stupidity inserted into the conservative movement to keep it from succeeding.

And you can think that too, the American people are waking up to the fact that the Democrat party has become the New Socialist party, and your days of power and corruption are numbered.

No, individual RESPONSIBILITY is a cornerstone, and that relies on moral social values. Gay Marriage is opposed across the board by a vast majority of America, from both the left and right.

No. Individual RIGHTS. We're talking about politics.

You want some form of idiot mob rule.

My days? Very doubtful.

I'm actually hopeful that we will see a true 3rd party emerge, but not along the lines you're thinking.

You don't get it; people absolutely do not want their religion & politics mixing. You speak for a very small minority when you talk about that kind of agenda. Trust me - a lot of Democrats hope that the GOP will go that route, because it will completely marginalize the party.

I don't doubt that most people don't want religion and politics mixing, I am also opposed to that. I am, however, very interested in a return to conservative government, and that will include social conservatism. You seem to want to confuse religion with social conservative principles, and I think that is your main problem in failing to understand the point.

We can see by the Rasmussen poll, social conservatives are not marginalized at all, they represent a large percentage of the Republican party, and without their support, the remainder of the GOP is marginalized. The Democrats can "hope" all they like, it's over for them. They have been exposed for the socialist frauds they are, and it's all downhill from here.

Nothing will get your ass handed to you worse than the fossil got it than stressing social conservatardism.

you seem to think it's significant if a majority of people are chrisitians.

I think WHAT is significant? That a majority of people ARE Christian? That's just recognition of a fact, goofball! What the fuck are you yammering about? Spit it out!

What measures have Christians voted on, to restrict or remove the freedoms and liberties of others? Name a few things, or shut the fuck up about it, and admit you're full of shit!

You seem to think that a majority can vote away the civil rights of others.

That's not actually how the constitution works. SOme rights are ironclad. Some things can't be changed even if the entire populace goes moronic.

You've STILL not named a right the "religious right" has "voted away" ...you keep repeating this nonsense, but you haven't given a single example.
