It's the disproportionate changes in the old movies regarding race. In the original animated movie, the mermaid was white.

Why not? There is no reason Denzel couldn't. Anybody who would portray Lincoln would only be telling the story of Lincoln. Your skin doesn't have to be a particular color to tell a story.
