I'm not understanding this discussion.
Have things changed?
When I was in college, you could not get me to join a frat with a shotgun pressed to the back of my head.
For those who were interested, however,
a fraternity or sorority had the right to choice whatever new pledges they wished to choose
with absolutely no requirements imposed on them.
If it's not that way any longer, are they really fraternities and sororities,
or merely mutated vestiges of past manifestations?
I can't see why any kid would want to be part of such nonsense in 2023,
bit since such organizations apparently still exist,
shouldn't they be left to administer their own standards?
Belonging to an idiotic institution isn't a civil liberty or right, I wouldn't think.
