The phrase stay woke has history in AAVE as far back as the 1930s, in some contexts referring to an awareness of the social and political issues affecting African Americans. The phrase was uttered in lyrics of recordings by Lead Belly in mid 20th century and post-millennium by Erykah Badu.

During the 2014 Ferguson protests, the phrase was popularized by Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists seeking to raise awareness about police shootings of African Americans. After seeing use on Black Twitter, the term woke was increasingly used by white people, often to signal their support for BLM, which some commentators have criticised as cultural appropriation. Initially this wider adoption spread primarily among the young or the millennial generation. As it spread internationally, the term was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2017.

Buddha doesn't demand you follow his teachings, you can choose or not without penalty.

Thanks for pointing out that "Cancel Culture" is a RIGHT-WING agenda. Any Culture that Republicans do not want in America, be it Black American Culture, Mexican American Culture, Muslim American Culture, Freedom From Religion Culture, or LGBTQ Culture, they intend to just cancel them out by taking away their Civil Rights!

It's a way to promote the WHITE CHRISTIAN EVANGELISTIC culture and give them Supremacy over any other cultures that are not a makeup of the WHITE CHRISTIAN EVANGELISTIC culture.

To the OP - YES. Jesus was not only woke, he was one of the most woke individuals in world history. He defined woke.

It both amuses and interests me how the extremists of both sides accuse their opposites of doing exactly what they are doing themselves.

At the moment, the greatest danger is the Alt-Right since they are consolidating power in several states against the will of a divided majority. Florida is an excellent example but the same is happening in Texas (although that might change in another election or three) and a few other states such as Montana.
