We're a pro-choice nation

You have no right to force a girl to give birth to a baby that can be malformed, or a terrible burden to a person's life. Abortion has financial and equal rights implications. It can impact a family's wealth and even the ability to survive well. That is a price a girl pays.
Again, if you are really against abortion, you can cut them back by setting up funding to support a child that a family knows it cannot support. Provide, food, healthcare, and education then a girl may decide she can handle a kid. Just saying I do not believe in abortion, therefore you should not have one is repulsive. You are imposing all the hardships on a girl and then walking away.

They are babies before they're born.... wanted or unwanted... Think about it... you can't look at an ultrasound and tell if he or she is wanted....or is not....People should really stop using that as an excuse that somehow justifies abortion... People also use the wanted/unwanted /no longer wanted anymore excuse when it comes to their animals... that's another discussion for another thread... ( We certainly do think differently ...that's why I'm always glad we can have civil conversations... that is unusual here...very unusual...)

I completely fail to understand how allowing unqualified parents to raise a child is preferable to sparing that fetus life as an unwanted child.
To me, it seems inhumanly cruel.

A lousy life, or even a mediocre life, is a Draconian sentence, not a gift.
What kind of mentality believes that even a miserable life is worth living?
My mind has simply never worked that way, nor even understood how others could.

To me, abortion is an act of mercy, where others see it as murder.
How can people who, in all sincerity and good conscience, think so differently
possibly co-exist peacefully?

It's obvious that they can't, and as a result, America as it exits today will never, ever be a peaceful place.
We see that plainly right now.
We shoot each others' asses off almost every single day.
I don't so much as blink an eye at it anymore.
How else could it be?

I coexist peacefully with most everyone... because that's what I choose to do... if you choose not to, that is on you... I'm going to choose to try to make things better ...to make those miserable children be less miserable... and possibly even be qualified parents someday... I'll give up trying to do this when I'm not here anymore...;) I'm so glad that I don't give up on those who don't have the perfect life...human or animal...

Of course he or she is... but I realize that not everyone wants to accept that fact... and that is their choice....It's understandable why so many women want to believe that all they're doing is eliminating cells...

C'mon, TOP. What makes you think so many women want to believe that all they are doing is eliminating cells when they get an abortion?

I doubt more than a tiny minority of women (or men) feel that is what is happening.

A pregnancy is being terminated. It is not a happy affair...there is no joy in it.

BUT IT SHOULD BE THE WOMAN'S CHOICE.

It is just some cells being eliminated...nor is it a baby being killed. It is a pregnancy being terminated...often the result of a heartbreaking decision by a woman.

The anti-choice people ought to get the hell off their high-horses...and try to see this difficulty in an adult way.

Hi Frank... I believe that because that's what the majority of women.. and men
...believe...and say... unwanted ... it's a bunch of cells...wanted...it's a baby...You said yourself that it's not a baby... although I think that you meant it's also not just cells... your thinking is at least more reasonable than the majority ...Sometimes it is a heartbreaking and difficult decision because it's the termination of a baby... which is why it's best avoided if at all possible... there's just too many abortions to truly believe that people arent making excuses for what's happening... I think what the pro-life people ate trying to do is to encourage the pro-choice people to be more responsible... and there won't need to be a choice..
( happy to hear you're back out playing.. have a great season)

It's a completely different way of thinking, and I believe that you're sincere.
I am as well--my mind works completely differently, apparently, so I see my own view as the more humane, less cruel one.
It's the old "absolute value" / "qualitative value" dichotomy, and it's probably as great of a sincere difference as people can have.
Close to it, anyway.

I even see a difference between myself and Frank, really, although our difference is not nearly as extreme.
Frank believes that all women struggle with that choice. Neither my wife nor daughter was ever in a position to make that choice,
but if they had to, I can't imagine them agonizing over it. They'd just do what they needed to do.
At least I think so. I shouldn't speak for them, perhaps.

Wrong we are not a pro-choice nation. Sonn you will have to buy an EV there is no choice. A mother killing her child is not a choice it is barbaric and a terrible action taken by the doctor and the Mother

Democrats want abortion right up to birth. The do not want them rare since that would hurt their wonderful Planned Parent hood

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/backlash-builds-after-democrats-vote-legalize-abortion-until-birth

I don't know any Democrats who "want abortion up to birth". I also don't know any women (myself included) who would wake up right before delivery and say "I changed my mind - just abort this thing".

It's immoral for a man to decide what a woman choses to do with her body!

If it was her body she was aborting you'd be right.

talk about sophomoric. I'd be ashamed to make that argument when I was 12, let along as an adult

Go read it again.

I don't really care that much

I didn't either, but at least I understood the flow of the conversation I was replying to, unlike Into The Night

Good point.
First you put up with the morning sickness.
Gradually, you stretch into the Goodyear blimp while your back is in misery.
Then, at week thirty-nine, you say....naaahhhh.

Thanks, NN...
(I hope I can call you that) I am sincere... and I know that you are as well... "Do the best you can until you know
better...Then when you know better, do better" Thank you Maya Angelo... Life has so much potential and can be so great!!

No it is not a lie.

Abortion is not mentioned even once in the Bible. NOT ONCE.

Horseshit! Abortion is not mentioned once in the Bible...and you know that.

If it were, you would already have cited a passage.

You cannot cite a passage mentioning abortion...because there are none.

Grow up.

Blatant lie. Go read the Bible.

Not in all states.
A state has a right to make laws...and if it is against the laws of the state in question...all is according to the books.
...annnnnnd again you show your hatred of children. You have no problem with murdering them.
There is a difference between someone causing the end of a pregnancy not occurring within the body of the causer...and a woman choosing to end a pregnancy occurring in er own body.
NONE.
Let me ask this, though...

...if a pregnant woman decides to use her pregnancy for use as a children deduction on her taxes...is she allowed to do so?
Is that all children are to you? A pawn?
