Florida gay pride parade canceled after anti-drag show law passes

in anticipation of Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signing a bill meant to keep children out of drag shows.

“We hope that everyone understands that this is definitely not what we wanted at all and are working with the city to assure our safety as well as produce a positive event,” the post said.

It's understandable why they would want safety for everyone involved. It has become a hostile environment for the LGBT folks.

I hope they are planning the next parade that is acceptable.

That is so ridiculous. Conservatives who can't handle telling their children about the real world are forcing their narrow views on everyone else.

Why are they so insecure that they are afraid their children might see people enjoying themselves and have to explain it?

you sound confused......the question is why would parents want their children around drag show.....the answer should then be the same reason anyone else wants to be around drag shows.......which raises a serious concern....

Given that drag queens are first and foremost human beings they probably have as much interest in reading to kids as the average person.

I'm sorry if it is inconvenient for you to remember that they are human beings, too. It has to be galling that people YOU don't approve of still get to be humans.
