Transgender Democrat shoots up Christian school a hate crime.

I'll go so far as to understand how the male-to-female transgendered people can create inequity in the arena of athletic competition,
this with the caveat that as a former professional athlete,
I don't find athletic competition to be a stupendously important issue.

Beyond that, I'm bewildered at how this subject has become such a popular topic.
How much effect do transgendered people have on your everyday life?

I find that the politically conservative in particular
love to keep the discussions on the topics
of largely irrelevant things
which nonetheless give them the opportunity to affect righteous indignation.

Since she was transgender she was likely a democrat

Sloppy thinking. You don't even know how *anybody,* let alone transgenders, votes. You cons don't have the critical thinking skills to understand how boneheaded your arguments are.

It is likely. The Repubs hate people who do not fit into the mold. Any protections for trans, gays, and minorities come from the left. The Repubs only abuse them and fight any laws that protect them.

I seriously doubt this person had any interest or bias when it came to politics. Their political affiliation is completely irrelevant. Applying that logic, all white male shooters (the majority of school shooters) are Republicans. The religious affiliation of the victims is also completely irrelevant. But again, by this idiotic logic, all school shooters are Christians.

Shooting Prompts a Shrug in Washington, as G.O.P. Rejects Pleas to Act
President Biden said he had reached the limit of his powers to act alone on gun violence, and needed Congress to respond. Republicans said they had already done all they were willing to do.

The mass shooting at a Christian elementary school in Nashville this week has generated a broad shrugging of the shoulders in Washington, from President Biden to Republicans in Congress, who seemed to agree on little other than that there was nothing left for them to do to counter the continuing toll of gun violence across the country.

But while President Biden’s stark admission on Tuesday that he could do no more on his own to tackle the issue was a statement of fact that aimed to put the burden on Congress to send him legislation, like the ban on assault weapons he has repeatedly championed, Republicans’ expressions of helplessness reflected an unwillingness, rather than an inability, to act.

Their answer to Mr. Biden’s plea was as blunt as it was swift, as lawmaker after Republican lawmaker made it clear that they had no intention of considering any additional gun safety measures.

“We’re not going to fix it,” Representative Tim Burchett, Republican of Tennessee, told reporters on the steps of the Capitol just hours after the shooting that killed three children and three adults in his home state. “Criminals are going to be criminals.”

Mr. Burchett said he saw no “real role” for Congress to play in reducing gun violence, and volunteered that his solution to the issue of protecting his family was to home-school his children.

Likewise, Senator Mike Rounds, Republican of South Dakota, said Congress had done enough.

THAT is what is truly F.U.B.B. about the gun lobby whores in Congress and the stupid ass gun monkeys of America ... "Likewise, Senator Mike Rounds, Republican of South Dakota, said Congress had done enough.

“When we start talking about bans or challenging the Second Amendment, the things that have already been done have gone about as far as we’re going with gun control,” Mr. Rounds told CNN."

I want all the gunner goons on this site to have the guts to follow this sentiment in public....tell the readers that it's more important to keep these (and more) assault weapons on the open market than the lives of kids....that it's more important to satisfy their warped ideology of the 2nd amendment and general paranoia of "those ___ people" (fill the blank) than re-establish a selective weapon ban on popular mass killing machines .... that you're too fucking stupid to realize that the gun manufacturers, the gun retailers could care less about kid's lives than their profits, and want you to keep coming back for more.

 Those people disgust me.

Democrats loooove to attack the symptoms, not the disease. They're no better than Republicans.

Here's what I don't get....WTF difference does it make regarding a mass shooter's religion or political affiliation or sexual identity? Whatever the impetus, these folk have one thing in common ... they became unhinged on some social issue and took it out on the general public, AND preferred using weapons that were formerly on the 1994 AWB list.

The gun lobby whores in Congress have made it clear ... they don't give a damn about YOU or me and our respective family and friends. It's all about power and money to them. But the sin of pride runs strong in the neocon/teabagger/fibbertarian/MAGA/alt-right universe .... they will march off a cliff, eat shit and call it ice cream or drape themselves over the back of a chair with their pants down saying, "Thank you sir, may I have another?" before publicly admitting they were wrong and change their minds/votes.

:palm: And the band played on.

There's truth in what you say....IMHO, since Reagan the Dems have just been total compliant wimps against the GOP & military/industrial complex. Even when they make headway (i.e., the 1994 AWB), they NEVER take the next logical step.

And the band played on.

What's the "next logical step"? Autocracy like Trump wants? An authoritarian state like the Republicans want?

No, don't be so dramatic. I'm talking about taking the consistent political steps that would have made the 1994 AWB permanent, instead of just waiting to the last minute. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20 as they say.

 I said or implied NOTHING of the sort...nor was the 1994 AWB law "authoritarian", as it was a consensus of both parties. "Nanny state" is moronic nomenclature by teabaggers/MAGA mooks/neocons/fibbertarians when there's a law they don't like (as opposed to those they do). Since you've demonstrated that you're not stupid and are capable of understanding what you read, I can only conclude from this response that you're in your "arrogant asshole" mode....which is where you go when it comes to gun control laws. So unless you've got something constructive to add, I'll just let you have the last silly word on this and move on.

I said likely since GOP does not support transgender. The democrats defend her and you think she is GOP than you prove it. The one thing we do know is she had mental problems

If you claim she is a Democrat, prove it, pal. You go first. But of course, you can’t. Show me ONE PERSON that defends her. Please, how fucking stupid.
