School superintendent candidate says job offer was rescinded after calling two female

Perrone told the local outlet that he sent the email in an attempt to negotiate higher pay and more sick days after calculating that the annual salary of $151,000 was around $14,000 less than his existing job as an interim superintendent at another school district.

You often get a higher salary for temporary work. Demanding the higher salary for a more permanent position is not going to go over well. I am not surprised he lost his job offer.

That's crazy .... they offered him the job... I hope he goes after them and gets the position...as he should... with the extras he was asking for...

Society does not owe him a job paying $165k a year. He was offered a job, decided he was "owed" more than $151k, and lost the job offer. It happens. "Demanding" that the job is "owed" to him will just make sure no one ever offers him a job again.

An incoming Massachusetts school superintendent revealed that his job offer was rescinded prior to his start date after he addressed two women on the school’s committee as "ladies" in an email.

Vito Perrone was offered the position as the head of Easthampton Schools on March 23, but was notified that the job offer had been withdrawn over his choice of salutation in an email to the chairperson and executive assistant, both female, who reportedly interpreted his "ladies" greeting as a "microaggression," the Daily Hampshire Gazette reported.

OMG Is this what the leftist loons have come to? What should he have called them? Menstruating People? Dickless persons? What?

UTOPIA will be degendered...the WOKE have been very clear on this point.

1. Stop paying for public schools with property taxes; pay for them with federal income tax.

2. Forget about local yokel control. Put all of the schools under the jurisdiction of the US Department of Education.

3. Local elected school committees are not comprised of people with doctorates in education.
Nobody without them should get near deciding school direction.
I've attended enough school committee meetings to know.
Education is an arena for elitists, not populists; it's too important.

As long as schools are controlled locally, red state students will continue to get American Christian Taliban-approved faux education.

Most parents don’t have doctorates in education.

They are paying for their children’s education and you believe they should have no input as to their education?

This kind of elitist thinking is what turned Virginia from blue to red.

He was negotiating a job position, something that most sane people do, Walter.

Do you actually believe he should have lost the job because calling "ladies" ladies is a "micro-aggression,” Walter?

You need an abundance of help, Walter.

Poor Walter.

So you agree that the job offer should have been withdrawn because he referred to the gals as ladies? They offered him the the job... obviously because they thought he was qualified which he is... from the sounds of it he's absolutely the right person for this position ...Why doesn't he have a right to negotiate the pay and the benefits? And that certainly shouldn't disqualify him from the position... I hope he goes after them...

Schools need to be controlled locally...back to neighborhood schools... that's the first thing that will help..

He was negotiating a job position

And it backfired on him. It would not normally be national news, except the alt right has such an insane level of entitlement that it is now.

He refuses to give us the letter he wrote, but he has given us enough to realize that the letter had no reasons for him to get more money, and more importantly was nasty, and demanding. Most important thing to remember was he is extremely under-qualified for this job.

So now the job is going to go to someone who is both qualified, and willing to work for the salary they can offer.

You don’t believe that Vito has the right to negotiate the job conditions that he is applying for?

How very cavalier of you, Walter.

And (sic) Vito is going to be wealthy, after litigation.

So, Walter, you think he should have been denied the job because he called “ladies” ladies?

Poor Walter.
.

Indeed, TOP, indeed.

After litigation, Vito will probably be a wealthy man.

They offered him the position....he was obviously the best man for the job... I don't think Walt is paying attention...

Indeed.

Poor Walter tries but very often comes up short.

One wonders how he became the CEO to 17 companies.

They offered him the the job.

That is the one part of the story that we know actually happened. He was offered a government job, where it would be very difficult to change the salary. It appears they were questioning whether it was the right decision, even before they offered the job to him, because he was under-qualified.

Then he sent a very aggressive letter, demanding more money, with no good reasons. It would probably be a good idea to be nice in such a letter. Try to make it sound like you regret putting them in such a bad position. One part of being nice is using people's names. If he said, "you ladies are going to have to give me more money", it would be rude.

Of course, he is too embarrassed to release his letter, so we may never know what he did. If the letter was not aggressive, and entitled, you would think he would release it.

Why doesn't he have a right to negotiate the pay and the benefits?

Both sides have the right to negotiate. He turned down their offer, and started negotiations. They turned down his offer, and started looking for someone who is actually qualified. This loser is not entitled to a job making $165k.

Now he is toxic. He turned a normal job negotiation into a nasty news story. I am sure that the people involved are getting death threats against their families. No sane person would offer this man a job.

They picked someone else because they felt that other person would be a better fit. The other person wasn't asking for 40 days sick time and 4 extra vacation days the first year and automatic 3% pay increases thereafter. It had nothing to do with him addressing the women as "ladies" but FOX knows they will get a bunch of ignorant shitheads like you to buy it.

So, Walter, you really, really believe that Vito should have lost the job because he called “ladies” ladies…really, Walter?

As TOP posted, “They offered him the position....he was obviously the best man for the job... I don't think Walt is paying attention.”

You don’t believe that Vito has the right to negotiate the job conditions that he is applying for?

Both sides have every right to negotiate, or not. Once he turned down the job offer, and started negotiations, they had every right to walk away from him. Seriously, you can tell a lot about how someone would work on a team by how they negotiate job conditions.

It being a government job, they had little power to negotiate with him, so it is a wise decision to move on... Which they did. His actions after they moved on have shown him to be aggressive and entitled, so he was clearly the wrong person for the job. I would say they really dodged the bullet here, but their families are being threatened, so they did not. Best would be not to even interview someone like this.

And (sic) Vito is going to be wealthy, after litigation.

First off, almost no one becomes rich off of employment cases. That is a myth. If you are lucky, you can walk away with as much money as you lost.

But more importantly, he was never employed. He has to convince a judge that he was entitled to the job, and they had no right to negotiate with him. Part of negotiation is walking away. He literally has no case here.

And I do mean judge. There is no way this is getting to a jury.
