Promote Christian Work Ethic over Leftist Entitlement Mentality

What I advocate is not to "pay someone to do nothing." I am advocating for paying (providing for) them to do something very, very important to increase productivity...TO STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY. Essentially I would be asking them to become "stay out of the way" specialists...something they CAN be good at...and something which would allow them to be a part of increasing productivity.

Gov't paying people not to work ...

The "Christian work ethic" sucks...and eventually will be the death of civilization. Some people are just lousy at "work." They reduce productivity when they take up a job...humanity ends up with less because they work. Some of those unproductive people work and hurt productivity because they are forced to work...and some work because they want to work, but are incompetent or merely marginally competent.

We do not need anywhere near the number of human workers that now need jobs in order to live a reasonable life.

A much, much, much better way of handling things is to refuse to allow people to take up jobs unless they show great competence at the work they are attempting to get.

The rest of the people...those who are marginally competent (or worse) we can let starve and/or freeze to death...or we can do what intelligent, reasonable people would do...provide them with enough of the greatly increased productivity so that they can live a decent life without having to work.

Fat chance of that happening in a world that loves the bullshit Christian work ethic.

You're talking about a guaranteed annual income. If current demographic trends continue, esp. in countries where robotics are increasingly common, that's what a lot of economists predict will need to happen.

You're thinking of the Protestant work ethic.

The Protestant work ethic was a thought experiment/theory of the 19th century German sociologist Max Weber.

It wasn't an American idea, and more importantly it has no basis in the teachings of Jesus. He taught about sharing your wealth with the poor, and preparing yourself to be spiritually and morally pure.

Your robotic like avatar makes your assertion that the LEFT's vision of or definition of this 'work ethic' has nothing to do with we Christians or with humans in general, and that, you see robotics or AI taking over as the force creating a 'work ethic'. You don't have much faith in the human race, do you? You certainly have no faith or no reason to support or encourage a human work ethic. Being the LEFTIST you most certainly are confirms the point that you live in a supernatural world made up of losers and sub human behavior.

Last time I checked Protestants were Christians. Never said the work ethnic was an American idea.
And the work ethic does indeed have its basis in the teachings of Jesus. Just go back in this thread
to Earl's post #18 so you can get a refresher course in just what Jesus said about this work ethic.
Let me know what you find.

Post #18 is by some idiot named Top.

If you are going to babble about the Christian work ethic, at least get it right. It's known to history as the Protestant work ethic, and Protestants are only a minority of world Christianity. In Max Weber's theory, the Protestant work ethic is specifically a consequence of certain distinct aspects of Protestant theology.

My bad, it was post #19. Take it from there. MY OP stated that it was the Christian work ethic that made America great, and a majority of our Founders were Christian. If you don't think our Christian Founders had an excellent work ethic, then there's nothing more I or anyone can do to make you see the Christian light or the Christian work ethic. What is your point that Protestants only represent a minority of world Christianity? Again, I'm talking about the Christian work ethic here in America--be they Protestants or Catholics or whatever.

What robotic-like avatar are you talking about? My avatar is a cartoon character.

When you want to throw your poop at others you might be wise to get the right person first. Merely making a statement of fact regarding demographics has nothing to do with your mythical "Christian work ethic" nonsense. BTW, a lot of ppl think that religion of any sort is a belief in a "supernatural world." Your very screen name tells us that you are nothing at all Christ-like or Christian.

Put down the bong and get a job, Cletus.

Mythical Christian Work ethic? Yeah, looks like you couldn't take the time to read the Christian Bible verses from post #18 that blows up your stupid and ignorant assertion that the Christian work ethic is nonsense. And I'm not surprised in the least that someone who poses as an owl believes that the Christian faith is mythical. You seem to already be living in that robotic/AI world that denies anything resembling human behavior or the human work ethic. But one thing is for sure, you're about as extreme as as radical as a LEFTIST could be. And my screen name denotes my extreme hatred for anti American liberalism, which has nothing to do with hating any individual at all. My Christian beliefs and values remain the same, and my pro American agenda remains the same as always. And also, my avatar remains the same in that leftist socialism sucks big time and that it is anti American to the core.

So, another hate filled Christian.

You're a perfect example of why so many are leaving the churches and finding their own way. You are about as Christian as a short bus. :rofl2:

Libs don't understand love the sinner hate the sin. I hate liberalism but have hope that Liberals come to their senses and become conservatives. Liberal are just all about hate. Leo Terrell Switched from liberalism to conservatism. He woke up and realized he could no longer in good consciousness support liberalism.

Precisely. This thread contains several examples of the angry scribblings of RW self-proclaimed Xtians who don't exhibit anything resembling the teachings of Christ the Lord.
Show one single Christian that claims he has obtained perfection. All Christians are works in progress.

And they never will understand that we Christians do not hate the sinner or in this case any radical/extreme LEFTISTS, but that we do hate the sins and or the anti American ideologies of the LEFTISTs here in America. You might have noticed that not one leftist in this thread mentioned their support for the Leftist entitlement mentality (big govt et al) over the good old individual Christian work ethic. No, all they can do is bash Christians.
