Trump wins CPAC Straw Poll for 2024 Republican Nomination Trump: 62% Desantis: 20%

Because there are two GOP "religions" now. The trump wing and the wing that wants to move on from him. Also, CPAC is still dealing with the Matt Schlapp's bagage.

Yep. And this is why it is VERY possible Trump is the '24 nominee.

I think at least 6-7 other candidates will enter the race for the nomination. Trump's cult makes up a significant portion of the GOP base - he'll get that vote, and the rest of the candidates will split the "non Trump" vote. Very similar to what happened in 2016.

I really can't believe after everything that has happened that Trump could actually be a viable candidate again. It does not speak well of our nation.

Wow. DeSantis did not bother showing up.

Neither did Pence. I admire Nikki for standing up there. She's trying to break through as a contender.

IMO, let the Trumpers run amok. It's about 18 months to the election. Let Trump ramp up the heat and, with the heat of summer, the WSE's will attack causing the deaths of hundreds of Americans. Who will American voters remember in NOV24, besides Traitor Trump? Not Ron "I hate gays" DeSantis or Mike "They weren't really going to hang me" Pence.

Hopefully the sane Republicans will remember the one Republican who stood against the traitors; Nikki Haley.

Christie jabs at lack of crowd for Trump at CPAC: ‘That room was half-full

This is not good for someone who get's his rocks off on crowd size?!!

Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) on Sunday appeared to poke fun at the size of the crowd that attended former President Trump’s keynote speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) over the weekend, saying that the room was “half-full.”

“You saw the scenes at CPAC, that room was half-full,” Christie said on ABC’s “This Week.” “The reason I don’t think the rallies are going on … I don’t think the rallies would be nearly as big as they were before.”

Camera shots from Trump’s speech at the conference showed that the room was not nearly at full capacity. Christie, who ran against Trump in the 2016 Republican primary and then worked on Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns, used the speech’s attendance to point to what he thinks is Trump’s waning support.

“There are lots of indicators here, that he’s not what he used to be, in most respects, you’re talking about and so we’re going to see how that plays out,” Christie said.

Trump, who was the first Republican to launch his bid for president right after the 2022 midterms, has been criticized for what some see as a subdued start to his campaign.

Unless his legal troubles trip him up prior to the nomination. There are so many now it's hard to count.

President Trump Says “He’s Very Happy About Endorsing DeSantis for Governor” – Says It’s Too Early to Discuss Picking Him as a Running Mate

A young reporter from the Daily Caller asked President Trump a question if he regretted backing Ron DeSantis for governor of Florida. Trump had no problems answering the question.

“If Ron DeSantis is such a fraud, why did you endorse him for governor? Did you make a mistake?” Daily Caller’s White House Correspondent Diana Glebova asked Trump at CPAC Saturday.

“I’m very happy I endorsed him for governor, because the alternative would’ve been very bad. He was a disaster as it turned out — the alternative would’ve been very bad. Florida’s doing — Florida’s done well for a long time, and I’m very happy about that,” Trump responded.

Trump also told reporters it was “too soon” to tell if he would offer DeSantis a vice presidential spot on his 2024 ticket.

“I’ve always had a great relationship with Ron. I was the one that made it possible for him to win. He was in a very low number and after I endorsed him, he went up by a lot and he asked me to do that. I’ve always had a good relationship with him. But it’s much too early to talk,” Trump said.

President Trump has attacked DeSantis previously but doesn’t appear to be too concerned about his run for President currently.

I want to believe this. More than anything, really.

But I will never count Trump out. He is a master when it comes to manipulating the masses. Even Republicans turn on their own to appease him - the heckling Haley got at CPAC was so disturbing. It's such a cult w/ Trump.

I counted him out the first time and won't make that mistake again.

what difference does it make who beats the Pasty Faced Pedophile in 2024......its unlikely lib'ruls will get away with creating another crisis this time......

Tell ya what - if it really is Trump/Lake in '24, and they actually win? That will probably be it for me. People always say they'll leave America about elections - but that would be the one for me. I will find myself a new country.

That is a vile ticket. Absolutely repugnant. It will mean America has lost not only its compass, but its soul.

Right. That's about as much of a lie as putting people on your ignore list.

You should probably look up what 'cult' means. I know you don't understand the English language, but you can always learn it if you want to.
