Look what happens when Senator Vance puts a stick into a creek East Palestine, Ohio

Yep! ... he had to use an E.O. because the Dems controlled both chambers and refused to act.

The opposite is true. The EPA has grown way too powerful and authoritarian.

Yes, he was the Leftist's most hated president at the time.

I voted for Nixon! It was the very first time I was eligible to vote.

But, I voted for him because he campaigned to BRING OUR TROOPS HOME from Vietnam!

Shit, you're about as old as I am!
With no 18-year-old vote yet in 1964, Hubert Humphrey was my first presidential vote in 1968.

it was the beginning of a lifetime pattern of having to vote for my party's nominee that I did not choose in the Democratic primary.

Long before this accident, the Ohio River has always been the most polluted river in the United States- Because of Toxic Industrial dumping.

Sometimes it takes an accident like this to look at the overall problems of the water and air quality in the entire state!

Good luck Ohio- You deserve better.

I think now Ohio will start getting the attention they need to correct all kinds of environmental hazards such as Toxic dumping ETC.

But, your state still has to make the environment a primary concern and a mandate to stop polluting the RIVERS and ground waters.

East Palestine has never existed.

Explain why You believe that, ... and why you believe FEMA should NOT help the people in Ohio.

I don’t really believe it’s socialist, but I know you’d be screaming it if Biden had provided the money before The former guy complained.

I don’t know the rules for EPA funding, but I do believe the federal government should help, ultimately it should be the company who caused the mess’s job to pay for the clean up.

You know, I knew you were going to say that sooner or later, you racist, classless bitch.

Bring your ass down a bit- my kicking leg's a tad lazy on a Sunday.

I hope the conservatives who are mortified to see chemical contamination in waterways aren't the same ones who complain about EPA overreach and over-regulation of the chemical industry.

This entire topic is so frustrating. Republicans want to abolish the EPA. They have called disaster relief socialism. Even though red states constantly need disaster relief, they continue to criticize regulation and social welfare.

Now we have a train derailment in Ohio. It's not that Republicans give a shit. They just want to stick it to the libs and Biden. So it's not good enough that the Republican governor told Biden not to intervene. It's not even good enough that Biden sent federal resources after DeWine changed his mind. In fact, what we have are JPP cultists claiming that the accident was intentional and that nothing that Biden does will ever be good enough.

It's such a worthless conversation. If we can't agree on helping the people of East Palestine and making sure their health and safety are protected, then we can't agree on anything. And that's exactly where we are.

"A spokesman for DeWine, Dan Tierney told 21 News that under federal law, FEMA assists disaster-stricken communities pay for property damage not covered by insurance or another entity.

Tierney said Thursday that the derailment did not cause major property damage in the village, and so far, Norfolk Southern has been paying for environmental testing and other needs like bottled water."

Cool, ... 68 or 72 ?

Nixon is one of my favorite modern presidents.

Nixon did end U.S. military action in LBJ's War, and brought our troops home ... and suspended selective service registration indefinitely (reinstated by Carter).

The 72 election was my very first one to be old enough to vote in!

I also liked president Ford.

AND I LIKE JIMMY CARTER!

So it’s not part of FEMA to pay?

The the Regime decided to burn the chemicals rather than off-load them, because that would have been too dangerous, and so they polluted the land and air with very dangerous substances makes me wonder what they would do it faced with a nuclear plant emergency....

"We cant go in, that would be too dangerous, just let it go into meltdown".

Three Mile Island was pretty much a worst-case disaster for the US nuclear power industry. The operators did just about everything they could wrong and made it worse. Even so, nobody died or was seriously injured as a result of that accident. Nobody got cancer from it down the road.
