My question was are there alternatives to AP classes? ? Did you take honors classes in high school? Do you have a copy of the governor's High School transcript? ;)

First of all banning is not a condition of dictating. School board across the country aggressively resisted parents disagreement with their curriculums. They didnt ban necessarily but dictated what kids would learn nonetheless. You're argument is desantis is dictating through banning and i merely pointed out that leftists dictate all the time what kids will learn. This is hardly different. Beyond that schools and especially colleges ban content they disagree with a the time so stop being putz. You have no problem when you're the dictator but hate when someone else is. Plain and simple.

So you didn't answer any of my questions.... and actually what Governor DeSantis is doing is the exact opposite of wanting the students in his state... as you so eloquently put it...to be dumber... he's working with educators and parents to structure the curriculum in Florida schools to be the best it can be for students...

I took college prep (advanced placement classes) while in high school.

They were in math, chemistry, physics and biology and without them, I doubt that I would haven gotten into college (Engineering).

I was reading an article by a physics professor at Stanford and he noted they still have to do remedial math classes even with the AP kids to get them where they need to be.

My daughter completed Pre-Med and she said there were students who had to take remedial English to write the required reports.

I had to correct my Son-in-Law's grammar in some of his reports. He will be a PhD in a few days.

Yes, it is.

He has dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and has had to work long hours to complete his PhD. He has successfully defended his dissertation and will graduate soon. His mother is a lawyer and taught English and law in college.

Hard to believe.

That could well be it unfortunately. At the same time, those complaining about the dumbing down of education based on this action sure have been quiet about the lowering of standards in the name of equity. Lowering standards is lowering standards is it not?
